[edit] Merge

I think there's some good information here, but I don't think it needs to be on its own page. All or the best parts of it should be merged with Easter Eggs. — It's dot com 22:07, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

That sounds re-ZON-able. — Defender1031*Talk 22:08, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Easter Eggs are Easter Eggs. Simply noting that these types of Eggs exist on the main page is enough in my book.--Jellote wuz here 13:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I also think it should be merged with Easter Eggs. ColdReactive 20:16, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it would make Easter Eggs a long article (in addition to including Decompiled Flash Easter Eggs in the merge). So, I'm for merging; otherwise neutral. Soiled Bargains (talk|ctrb) 23:35, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
The pages have now been merged. — It's dot com 02:05, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Explanation for creating the article

One of my favorite things to do on Homestar Runner is to look at the Easter eggs. There are lots of Easter eggs, and they come in several flavors- clickable, keypress, "hidden in the Flash," and secret page Easter eggs. The clickable Easter eggs are the most common, and the easiest to find-- pressing tab reveals them. I don't see a need to make a list of these; it would be a very long and useless article. However, the keypress Easter eggs are much less common and a lot more difficult to discover. That is, I would have never found any of the keypress Easter eggs without the help of the wiki. That's why I think a list of them makes a very useful and interesting page. This is in the spirit of the article secret pages. I'm about to create an article called Decompiled Flash Easter Eggs with all the same intentions. Leave your thoughts, vote it up, vote it down, or contribute to the list! --Garfunkel

Okay- I'll wait until a consensus a reached on the fate of this page before creating a similar one for "hidden in the flash" Easter eggs. One thing is, I've had all this information on my talk page since 2006; there are probably more keypress Easter eggs to document, and that would substantiate this list enough to keep it separate from the Easter eggs article. I'll look. --Garfunkel 22:18, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
I thought you were going to wait before making Decompiled Flash Easter Eggs. The consensus so far is not to have separate pages. The Easter egg page is really not that long, and I see no reason why all of this can't just be in a subsection of that page. — It's dot com 19:14, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I guess I just went for it, so that people could actually see what I was shooting for. I feel that, if not make it "too long," it would clutter the Easter eggs page. If I'm the only one that thinks that, that's cool. --Garfunkel 19:28, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh, so your saying that we should make a page for clicking on the letter O to actiivate easter eggs as well.
You do realize users can have their own sandbox pages, right? (Like mine) You could have put it there. I did when I was making the Compe template for emails and email list. ColdReactive 13:22, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay. There's nothing wrong with starting a new article, either. If the community doesn't like it, it should be removed. Nobody should be afraid of making an edit for fear of it being shot down-- It's OK to start an article. Thanks you for the tip though, I think that's useful knowledge. --Garfunkel 17:56, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't know why you're getting so much flak, Garfunkel. Personally, I think your two pages are not only great, but they work best as stand-alones, not merged with the existing Easter Eggs article. When I go to the Easter Eggs article, I expect to see a brief overview of Easter eggs-- mainly how they're hidden and simple examples, not a comprehensive list. In that respect, I think your two articles would be out of place on that page. I also think they're notable enough that they deserve their own pages since I imagine most people only know about the clickable Easter eggs in most toons. You get my enthusiastic support!--Bobo the King 11:06, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
