How do you get big head mode? Also, many games have big head modes. It's not really a reference to one game, but to freaking tons of games. --Hagurumon

I believe that NBA Jam was the first game to use this code that became standard. But the question of how to get it remains - I don't think we ought to have a fun fact about a mode without an explanation of how to get to it. - Tim333

[edit] 49.99 km?

Can someone validate this statement by providing the combinations: "There are five different special combinations that can be put together on the 'Choose it out' screen, each of which gives you a special name rather than 'Steak Styles'. One of which allows you to start the race at 49.99 km." ? JoeyDay (Talk) 13:16, 19 Jan 2005 (MST)

Yeah I wasn't sure if I should write all the details out or leave them to be found. I cheated by decompiling it so I guess I felt bad posting the details.

We need somebody to do confirmation before I remove it, since it's taking me way too long to puzzle out every single possible combination there could be. --TheNintenGenius 15:34, 19 Jan 2005 (MST)

[edit] .5k Glitch

I know you're supposed to walk off into blackness at 1K. But, when attempting to see this, there was a minor graphical glitch right after I crossed .5k (the message in the background was "These boots were mad|" [e for it], which then stopped abruptly as the crowd turned to white for a few pixels.) Is this normal? --Jay 12:18, 20 Jan 2005 (MST)

Yes. I found similar glitches at 1.38 K, 2.53 K, 3.40 K, 4.53 K... you get the idea. It's nothing, just a minor glitch. --Tim333

[edit] parody of Olympic Games (PS2)?

I disagree with that this is a parody of any PS2 game. The reference seems to be far older.

I believe this is meant to refer to The Activision Decathlon, where all of the running was done by moving the joystick left-right-left-right. The 1500 meter run was incredibly taxing; the 50k racewalker seems to be an extension of the concept. -- sensei256

I'm not entirely sure which game this is parodying, but it's definitely far, far older than any PS2 game. I've removed the fact.
P.S. Please sign your posts. — InterruptorJones[[]] 11:21, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)

[edit] hard man

Is this game impossible to win? -Kinsey

Yes. You can get to the end, but you always place third. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 20:01, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)
It's not hard to win, it's just mind numbingly tedious. That was the point of it.
It takes about eight and a half hours. That's if you can consistantly get three steps per second without faulting. Has anyone done it?

[edit] New Racewalker Image

I nominate that we use the image uploaded by User:Slowbie for the image on this page. I don't like the "FAULT!". Anyone else agree? Texas 03:18, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

I second that. I think we could use some more humor over here at the Wiki, which is why I uploaded it in the first place. The "FAULT" picture is so...boring. Slowbie
Slowbie, this is a knowledge base. While we can have fun here, we try to keep things in order. Because it has become abundantly obvious that the picture you created is not currently wanted on 50K_Racewalker, may I suggest that we leave it alone? You are free, however, to post the picture in on your userpage or anywhere else in your userspace. The Fanstuff Wiki has a lot of humor, if that's what you're looking for. — Lapper (talk) 03:33, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Also, the creation of alternate accounts is generally frowned upon by the wiki as a whole. The timing and opinion of Texas is a little suspicious. --DorianGray
I did not create an alternate account. Texas is a friend of mine who was afraid that agreeing me would cause all you nazis to prevent him from attaining a position within the wiki that he is hoping to get soon. I still don't get how you people can all be so freaking stiff but like such a funny website. --Slowbie
If that's the case, then I apologise. --DorianGray
And perhaps an apology is due in return. As for the wiki being funny... H*R has a purpose, and HRWiki has a purpose. It's H*R's job to be funny, and the wiki's job to be there when someone (especially some casual H*R fan not involved with the wiki) needs to know what he said just there, or who Gordon Lightfoot is. If the Encyclopedia Britannica were run with a "whetevah" attitude, it wouldn't be helpful.
That said, I can't really argue this issue since I've never seen your pic. I think the suggestion that you put it on your user page is a great one! —AbdiViklas 04:16, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
But if you do, please give it a different filename. Don't save over the old one. Thanks. — It's dot com 04:20, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Can we at least change the caption to say just plain "OOPS!!!" or something? It's rather misleading as is, especially since a fault in real racewalking does cause a disqualification. --Slowbie
I agree, that is kind of confusing. Let me just do some fact-checking on what the game says in its intro... [later] I'm confused: Do you have to never fault to beat the game? If not, the whole "You lose" phrase should be taken out of the article as well. —AbdiViklas 04:35, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
That is from the description on this page. The caption is fine. It's funny. So is the image. If you play the game at all, you'll do a lot of faulting. Just ask Some HSR themed username. — It's dot com 04:42, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
I suspected it was coming from something official. It might be nice to show that in some way; maybe for all the Videlectrix games to have a section headed "description in Videlectrix catalog." I ain't volunteering to do it, though! —AbdiViklas 04:45, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
If it needs to be done, I'll do it. Tomorrow. Right now, I go to bed. See you in twelve hours. If you want it done, leave a note on my talk page. I've been looking for a new way to occupy my time. --DorianGray
[Edit conflict] The link above (the Videlectrix description) is on the Videlectrix page. I toyed briefly with adding that link and the one to the theme music to the external links of 50K Racewalker, but I'm too tired right now to do the tedious work of fixing them all, and I would feel bad for not adding the links to all the pages. Anybody out there who wants to do this (and you know who you are), feel free to go for it. — It's dot com 04:55, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah, Dorian. I knew someone would step up. Don't forget the game music links. — It's dot com 04:55, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Unfortunately, by the time I got here, it seems someone already added all the music links (although I was able to make a few minor corrections). As to the other bit... D'you want me to just include a new "Official Videlectrix Description" section in each game, or what? --DorianGray 16:55, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

Fun Facts needs splittage. Glitches would then be incorperated into Fun Facts, and the '.5' glitch meantioned above would be added. There is also an Image of the glitch that could be incorperated. I'll try to get a few pictures of the 1K happenings, I think that would be much appreciated by those who don't want to press 'left right left right' for nearly an hour. Also general organization could probably be improved upon. Thunderbird 17:30, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
EDIT: Here's the other Image, of the 1K mark. Thunderbird 18:16, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Umm... WHY?

Wow. I'm amazed. Videletrix has outdone it's self, because, I can't believe they actually stayed on task, and focused on making such a game that would take you five hours! Pretty funny when you think of it! Though, I kinda wish they made an easier game... or uhhh.... harder game... well a game that doesen't require players to be careful when they type. I even showed it to my father, and he thought it was pretty funny. I told him not to play it unless he's really bored, and is desperate for anything to do. :D Of course, he only played a bit of it, then closed it. He was pretty good when I told him about pressing one arrow at a time, but he had quite a few faults, just like everyone else and me, probably. Well, I certainly hope there's no sequal. :D Also, one more thing. To whoever actually played the boring game and made it without freaking just for the sake of providing HRWiki with info, oh thank you thank you thank you. :D

Um... You might want to save that opinion for the Trogdor Decemberween Snowglobe.

[edit] Take a break?

Is "saving" possible? Like, if you leave the screen, is it imperative to start all over? 75.21.95.107 00:46, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Nope, no saves. If you close the window, it's all over. --DorianGray

[edit] Pitfall

Is it worth mentioning in the article that the box art is a nod to the box art of Pitfall! (viewable here)?

The only similarity is the color trails. I'm not sure that's enough to warrant a reference. But then again, they heavily referenced pitfall in the yello dello. my vote: not sure. — DeFender1031*Talk 12:45, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Impossible to create characters

I found something out. The characters that get first and second place each time are impossible to replicate, because the have skin and clothing colors that are not in the character select. Isn't that interesting?

[edit] Wait too long and get a FAULT?

How long? I've waited a maximum of three minutes so far, and nothing. When I press the correct key, it will still function as if I waited less than a second.
