[edit] some of my buses?

Does anyone know how to extract the "Hey, Strong Bad you jumped over some of my buses?" sound from this movie? I'm not sure what software I need to do this ... but I'd like to use the "some of my buses" quote in some techno I'm trying to put together. It also might be a good quote to put on the wiki. --NERD42  email  talk   h²g²  pedia  uncyc  03:57, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Try asking KieferSkunk. He's the one that uploads the OGGs of debated lines every time we need 'em. I bet he could do this easy. --DorianGray
Hooray! Media:Buses.ogg --NERD42  email  talk   h²g²  pedia  uncyc  02:57, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

This little exchange makes me wonder if virus could be referencing the fact that TBC reads this wiki... hmm. Danny Lilithborne 13:39, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Millionaire?

I always thought they said, "The Cheat is the winner!", not "The Cheat is a millionaire!" It's pretty hard to tell, though. Any thoughts?

It's 'millionaire', I'm sure of it. Too many syllables for it to be 'winner'. --Upsilon

[edit] Headless homestar?

Why isn't there any mention of the headless homestar dancing at the very end of the flash file on this page? →evin290 13:15, 8 Mar 2005 (MST)

I guess no one noticed it before. Congraturation! --Venusy

Yeah, I just tried adding it, but I can't come up with a good wording for it. Go for it. -- Tom 14:25, 8 Mar 2005 (MST)
I have a copy of the SWF file saved on my hard drive dated 22 June 2004 and it does not have the headless homestar bit mentioned above. What this means is that Mike or Matt must have added that after 22 June 2004, more than eight months after its initial 13 October 2003 release. Here's the SWF file I had saved in 2004. How odd that they would go back and add such an unusual thing!—THE PAPER PREEEOW 07:33, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] glitches

Just so you know, those glitches were deliberate to make fun of poor flash animation, as does the whole cartoon

I'm sure some of them were, but probably not every single one. And sign your posts please. talk Bubsty edits 01:56, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] "night-time" or "nice time"

Is Strong Bad's last phrase "See you later night-time" (as in the transcript) or "See you later nice time?" I hear the latter. Is it just me? --Jamby 01:56, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

Nope, it's not just you - I hear "nice time" as well --Eric 02:29, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

Well, I'ma change I put the volume up full blast (which is very loud) and I am positive he said nice time.

I've always believed it to be "nice time" or even "nice times". -- tomstiff 05:08, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I hear nighttime. Retromaniac

[edit] Fourth Wall Break?

Doesn't Strong Bad "break the fourth wall" by talking to the viewer? And even if not, isn't he breaking it by saying he's "not gonna do one this week"? I think it is most definitely a Fourth Wall Break. --SBEmail22 10:29, 14 Jun 2005 (EST)

This one's a close call, but I think it's as valid as some of the other items on that page. Why don't you start a discussion on the talk page there, or if you truly believe it should go on the page, just be bold and add it. — It's dot com 16:34, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The Fourth Wall Breaks page specifically says at the top that Strong Bad addressing the viewer is excluded from the page, because it happens so often and because the very fact that Strong Bad answers viewer emails indicates that he knows he has an audience. Aurora the Homestar Coder 16:45, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I think this one's a little more of a gray area because Strong Bad addresses us like he can see us. Then, when The Cheat makes his Flash toon, his parody extends all the way from "loading..." to the "preeow" of the printer. Meh, but I don't really feel strongly one way or the other. — It's dot com 18:31, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Okay, I can see that Strong Bad addressing the viewer would be excluded. But still, the fact that Strong Bad said that he wasn't going to do one makes me think of a fourth wall break. If there were something like the email "anything" in which Strong Bad wasn't available and Homestar (or another character) filled in for him and answered an email, I would be a bit more skeptical about it. But the fact that Strong Bad himself directly addresses that he refuses to answer a viewer's email has to be something. I also agree with what It's Dot Com said; if Strong Bad saying that he wasn't doing one isn't a fourth wall break, then the fact that The Cheat made a Strong Bad email complete with a loading screen and The Paper coming down could very well be a break as well. --SBEmail22 12:58, 14 Jun 2005 (EST)

[edit] It all started with The Cheat one day...

A theory of mine that I wanted to run by everyone: Near the end, Strong Bad claims his secret to be "The CHEAT!" Cue parade. This may seem like just more self-praise by The Cheat, but I wonder if, in the context, this may be a reference to SBEmail 50, where Strong Bad himself seems to attribute his awesomeness to The Cheat. I'm not sure about it, but it seems plausible. Thoughts? - Taster's Choice

I don't think it's a reference. I think you were right when you said it's just The Cheat's in-cartoon self-praise. — It's dot com 18:24, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dunkin' the Bird?

The "Dunkin' the Ch8t" float is most likely a reference to the science toy, the Drinking Bird.

[edit] Your Bod/Face Here

The Easter egg at the end look very similar to the main page picture on Tucker Max. If the Your face here picture came before the email, is that a reference? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 11:32, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Now, I'm not in high school, but isn't that a common thing at proms? Has Matt? (talk) 12:49, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
These "Your face here" pictures are very common. They've been used hundreds of times everywhere. I even remember reading a Simpsons comic which included one of them. At the end of the day, it's a TTATOT. – The Chort 14:31, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Here I Go Again On My Own

Is Strong Bad's line "Here I go again on my own" a reference to Here I Go Again by Whitesnake? Retromaniac 19:54, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

I was just thinking the same thing! Should it be put into trivia or anything? Falanalanel 23:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
It is a reference, but it's aready noted in real-world references. — It's dot com 00:03, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

really? I didn't notice that for some reason...oh well! Jorb Is A Four Letters Word 00:35, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] PBTC

It is a pretty consistent standard current here that PBTC goofs and inconsistencies are not noted, as they are indicative of The Cheat's style. Therefore, I propose removing the Remarks relevant to the PBTC section. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:18, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Some of them:
  • When you click on the floppy when Strong Bad is finishing the cartwheel, it says "Nitemare 3-D"
  • Strong Bad's computer says 'Compa' as opposed to 'Compy 386'.
  • The way "cheat" is spelled on the "Dunkin' the Ch8t" float is an example of Leetspeak and would actually be pronounced 'chate'.
are still worth noting somewhere. The rest can go IMO. — Defender1031*Talk 04:20, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't see any reason to remove them. They have existed quite nicely on the page for over two years. They're interesting and don't take up too much space. Yes, it's accepted that it's The Cheat's style, but do we ever enumerate what that style is? In other words, if we remove them, won't we be removing good information that isn't listed anywhere else? — It's dot com 17:50, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Can't we put most of that info on the transcript? --Trogga 20:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
We could, but would it fit there, or would it break up the flow? — It's dot com 00:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Airship theme? Nope.

Okay, lemme set the record straight. While I can agree to the fireworks sound being similar to the Bullet Bill cannons, the music playing during the The Cheat parade is NOT the airship theme. Here's proof. OK? OK.but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 13:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

I disagree. I think it sounds very similar. — Defender1031*Talk 13:59, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Is the PBTC part of this thing a sbemail or Powered By The Cheat toon?

It has a computer that is named a similar name to compy, and it is the same concept as a Strong Bad email. It also has a URL that is the same style as a sbemail, it is in the email menu and it is on a strongbad_email.exe DVD and not an Everything Else DVD. --Fangoriously 18:48, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

It's a sbemail. I don't think anyone has ever questioned that. — Defender1031*Talk 19:06, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Double Eggs

You can click on the Knight to remember easter egg through the Cheatsa parties. Just puttin' it out there. --Still Homsar 15:09, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit] One on One

At the begining of the movie with real Strongbad, "One on One" is writen on a diskette.

That's already mentioned here, but it looks like our good friend User:DorianGray took care of that piece of trivia for us in the article itself. DENNIS T/C 21:20, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit] How far?

How long is 19 buses? It might be crazy long! — Missile1234 (Talk | contribs) 16:58, 18 January 2021 (UTC) (left unsigned)

A quick search gave a figure of about 8 feet per school bus, so 19 buses would be about 152 feet (46 meters). These are approximations, of course. Talk pages are for questions or suggestions about the wiki article, not forum discussions. 5.2.69.5 18:39, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

In the first couple weeks, Joey transcribed a few emails, starting with mile. — HRWiki:A History
Fair enough. That said, noting that it was the first email transcribed is not quite the same as saying it was the first page—based on the organization of the old wiki, the Strong Bad Email index and article hub for mile were almost surely created before the transcript page.
