TMBG is, has always been, and always will be just John Linnell and John Flansburgh. Look at the arguments here. That brings me around to a question: Shouldn't we change it? I'm not saying we should remove any mention of the "Band of Dans" as they are called, but they ought to be listed separately. Input requested. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:00, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

Put another way, TMBG has always been John Flansburgh and John Linnell and currently, TMBG records and tours with Marty Beller on drums, Dan Miller on guitar, and Danny Weinkauf on bass. [1] I'm sure the wording on our article could use a change, but remember that in the context of TMBG's work with The Brothers Chaps, it's always been the five that are listed. -- Tom 06:10, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] When Worlds Collide

I think that it's great that TMBG & The Brothers Chaps got together because they're all geniuses in their fields with similar sensibilties that makes their work so compatible, introducing so many fans of one or the other to a new world of entertainment.

There was, of course already an overlap in the fanbase prior to TMBG & h*r's collaberations. Via SBEmail and even more so the Experimental Film video and the Puppet Jams, a lot of Homestar fans were introduced to TMBG and a lot of TMBG fans were introduced to Homestar Runner. I was one of the latter, having watched my first toon, SBEmail #99 in March '04 after receiving a TMBG e-mail newsletter inviting me to do just that.

Well before the Experimental Film video came around, I had watched every toon on the site.

You know, I was just thinking that. I was a H*R fan just finding out about TMBG, though I heard a promotional song for Courage the Cowardly Dog on Cartoon Network like... 3 years earlier. So yeah, I really hope they work together soon. And I really can't wait 'till my new H*R DVD comes in the mail. They have 3 new puppet jams! Okay, so it's back up with notice:
Shared web hosting sucks. Two of my sites, including this one, were down for a few days as the result of them using a high amount of CPU. We're still researching the cause, and may eventually move the service to something more stable, but for now we're back up and operating normally. Sorry for the inconvenince, and thanks to you who cared enough to send multiple text messages to my mobile phone reminding me to pay the wiki bill. :)

According to [2], TMBG performed fhqwgads with Strong Bad. Not much info on there now.

I was wrong about the song. It was "Everybody to the Limit."

The video for Figure Eight is no longer upcoming. I own the DVD and have seen it (It's pretty cool; they even re-used the "it's a lion!" thing. Too bad kids wouldn't get the joke.). Should there be a page here for it? Hagurumon 21:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I think the best place for general info about the video is the Figure Eight article at This Might be a Wiki. They even reference our transcript of the preview of the video when The Brothers Chaps showed it at Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007. For our purposes, the collaboration note here seems like enough, seeing as how it doesn't contain any Homestar Runner characters or take place within the Homestar Runner universe. -- Tom 22:55, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcJLvhkQfT4 The official YouTube upload of Charleston (Music Farm) has a still frame for its video, in which a Homsar shirt is clearly visible. I don't know if that goes here, in Musical Sightings, or in Website Sightings.
