Burning Feeds the right way, all the time.

Starting in August 2009, The Brothers Chaps began an RSS feed with updates to the website and commentary, using Google's Feedburner service. The page seems to mostly be run by Matt Chapman. The entries are archived below, with wiki links added where appropriate.

Ween - Ween - Fan Costumes and Contest Winners!

Strong Bad says - Listen tightly as I unload on all the unfortunate saps that decided to try and dress up like me or somebody less cool than me for Halloween this year. I also announce the winners of the Costume Contest. Man, those winners are losers. But seriously, thanks to all the lame-o's that dressed up. If I didn't make fun of you specifically this year, just know that deep down in my heart of hearts, I'm always making fun of you, regardless of the crap you have painted on your face, or the paper you have taped to your shirt. Click to let the verbal slaughter begin!

Store - City (Comma) State T-Shirt

Posted: Mon, 2 Nov 2009 00:00:00 EST

Strong Bad says - Once again my genius has spawned a cool t-shirt for you to wear. Inspired by my sbemail 'independent' it's the official film crew shirt for the indie film City (Comma) State. On the front of the shirt, there's a totally off-beat quirky irreverent dysfunctional polaroid image of the thirty-something hipster protagonists. The back of the shirt boasts, in stylish hand-drawn font of course, that you're part of the film crew for 'Indier Than Thou Productions,' acclaimed makers of 20-30 million dollar indie films. What are you waiting for? Get extra-elitist with this sweet brown deal! Stylishly ironic and self-aware and hip and subversive and all that crap! Click here to buy you some o' dat!!

Ween - New Halloween Toon!

Posted: Thu, 29 Oct 2009 03:33:00 EST

Strong Sad says - At long last my prose takes center stage in our latest Halloween adventure! Witness my Lovecraftian/Poe-lian/Blochy opus, 'Doomy Tales of the Macabre!' Since I'm a notoriously bad prankster (although I thought replacing everyone's iodized salt with sea salt was pretty genius), I decided to go with what I know and hit everybody with my best weapon: weird gloomy fiction! No one is spared! All will suffer! Have a safe and pleasant Halloween! Click if you dare!

Ween - Costumes Teaser

Posted: Mon, 26 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EST

Homestar says - Pointy silhouettes! It must mean it's almost time for a new Hallowed Ween cartoon! Gather round the water cooler or water fountain or keg and discuss among friends and coworkers who you think everybody's dressed up as this year! Is it an obscure 70's reference? 80's reference? NINETIES reference?!?! Or is it just more dumb crap from a video game? Only times will tells! Click here to start guessing!

Weeklies - Butcher Bros Represent!

Posted: Thu, 22 Oct 2009 03:33:00 EST

Matt says - This week's sketchbook is the cover of the instruction booklet for the abandoned Pigs On Head sequel Butcher Bros. You controlled both brothers in their Sausage Truck, handing out sausage to cooks who would appear out of doorways. Never seemed worth the trouble to execute I suppose.

Fanstuff comes from Alex Jackson, possibly in the UK, who made this awesome Homestar door knocker. Let me in, dun dun dun, let me in! And don't forget the Quote of the Week which is the full mp3 of Brainkrieg's Halloween jam Decomposing Pumpkins.

Ween - Brainkrieg Halloween Song

Posted: Mon, 19 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EST

Strong Bad says - Cheerleader's favorite black-wristband wearing high school band Brainkrieg is BACK with their Halloween single 'Decomposing Pumpkins!' Now I know what you're thinking. 'But, Strong Bad, since you DRAW the Teen Girl Squad, doesn't this mean that technically YOU made this song?' And the answer is this: I kinda black out a lot lately and when I wake up sometimes things I made up in my brain come to life. I practically pee my pants every time a Cheat Commandos comes on. Listen to those practice amps BUZZ!

Ween - Costume/Pumpkin Contest

Posted: Mon, 12 Oct 2009 02:33:00 EST

Matt says - Here's something we've probably never done before. Instead of just having Strong Bad unload on all the cool costumes folks send us, we're gonna let Homestar pick his favorite carved pumpkin and have Strong Bad pick the 'best' costume. With those two, the criteria for judging could vary wildly. Homestar could find a picture of an avocado in a cooking magazine and decide THAT wins first prize. And speaking of prizes, the sender of the winning pumpkin and winning costume will get a $20 gift code for the Homestar store. So break out the cardboard and duct tape and send us your costumes and also send us your pumpkins!

Ween New Pumpkin Stencils!

Posted: Mon, 12 Oct 2009 02:33:00 EST

Homestar says - Hey look! There's new pumpakin stencils for 2009! But, OH, what's this? Why is there some type pumpakin meter in my upper left hand screens? And why come do I sometimes get a verbal treat when I click on a pumpakin? Well, it's all a part of what I've just decided to start calling, 'Some Minor Changes to the Pumpkin Stencils Thing 2009.' Pretty catchy, huh? Rolls right off that tongue-o. Start hacking up those bulbous, orange squash!

Matt says - The Homestar Wiki is such an insanely detailed knowledge base about all things Homestar that it has a whole section devoted to 'GOOGLY-EYED OBJECTS'! I can only think of two and I have to be at least partially responsible for every instance of googly-eyed objects on the website! When you try and make a cartoon every week or so for 10 years, the details start to get fuzzy. The wiki brings them back into stark, arresting focus. Like those close-up mirrors hotel bathrooms sometimes have that make your skin look terrible no matter how much Sea Breeze you dunk your head in. Anyhow, they need to cover their hosting costs like anybody else. Donate Now!

Store - New LamaLaminated Laptop Skins!

Posted: Thu, 8 Oct 2009 12:18:00 EST

Videlectrix Guy says - These 3 new laminated laptop skin designs available in 5 different sizes have taken our good graphics to new high-resolutions! Pretend you bought a more expensive laptop with the brushed metal look of Seriously Titanium Homestar. Or pretend you like shiny stars with Shiny Star. And finally, pretend the character Bubs has taken your laptop to 'a better place' with the Slightly Shotugnned Lappy 486 design. Who among us hasn't secretly wished there was a gaping hole through their laptop that a potential half-decent date might peer through while you work diligently in a hospital cafeteria? Buy em!

Sbemail - Videography

Posted: Mon, 5 Oct 2009 12:00:00 EST

Strong Bad says - A self-proclaimed Video Media Technologist apparently needs to hire me as 'videographer' to videotape his wedding. If I ignore the inherent creepitude that comes from putting 'videographer' in quotes *shudder*, then I'm still left with the fact that a Video Media Technologist couldn't figure out how to put a tripod in a corner and press REC. That's like King Tut asking you to mummify his cat for him, right? That analogy is solid gold! Watcha!

Powered by The Cheat - Crystal Fortress

Posted: Mon, 28 Sep 2009 00:00:00 EST

Matt says - Here's a little something we made years ago with the They Might Be Giants boys that we never really did anything with (they released it on a podcast one time, though). So we figured we'd give the keys to The Cheat (in his first video since hip-hop/death metal smash hit Trudgemank)and mix it with a healthy dose of 'Stave it Off Guy' from the 'for kids' sbemail. I've just been calling him Stave for short. My dream was always to get Linnell dressed up like Stave and have puppet Strong Bad harrass and harangue him but that puppet weighs too freaking much to take anywhere. Check outs!

Short - The Animated Adventures of Puppet Homestar

Posted: Tue, 15 Sep 2009 00:00:00 EST

Homestar says - Everybody loves the Puppet Homestar. He is a terrific hand-in-the-headthlete. At short last, I bring the hit homepage No. 25 to life! What do you get when you cross a cartoon with photos of puppets? Why, something that defeats the purpose of BOTH those things, THAT'S what you get! This puts Muppets, Supermarionation, and the sham marriage known as Gumby to shame! I mean, who can resist that ol'Shark-Tooth Bubs?! Click it out, kids!

Sbemail - Dictionary

Posted: Tue, 1 Sep 2009 12:00:00 EST

Strong Bad says - Like two sides of an extremely rare, valuable, and attractive coin, there's Strong Bad the grammar policeman on one hand, and Strong Bad the guy that makes up a buncha crap all the time on t'other. And nothing fuses the two together like a made-up dictionary. Count Longardeaux from sbemail 134: record book makes his first appearance in 70 sbemails! Click here to watchmail Strong Bad!

Short - On Break

Posted: Mon, 24 Aug 2009 12:00:00 EST

Matt says - When you unintentionally create three different giant foam mascot costumes several years apart, you KNOW you're doing something right. Mike and I were walking from the car place to Oga's on a very pedestrian unfriendly highway when we wrote most of this short. There were lotsa car dealerships though, with all types of undualting, inflatable eye-catchers to help inspire us. Mike lost his flip flop crossing the 8-lane street and had to wait for the light to change to run back and get it. Click this HTML hyperlink to watch some embedded Flash content!

Sbemail - Independent

Posted: Mon, 10 Aug 2009 12:00:00 EST

Strong Bad says - Some nerd asks about some crap that I hate like usual and I get a new computer. This is an instance of somebody asking me for something very specific and I instead do an ever-so-gentle dance around what they really want me to say and do. I love to sit back and imagine their dissatisfaction as an increasingly frustrated bald programmer type sitting in a cubicle filled with greasy empty fast food bags. But then again, I like to imagine a lotta things are frustrated bald fast food bag swimmers so, y'know, wahtever. Check out my new computer!

Fun Facts

Remarks

Goofs

  • "Whatever" is misspelled as "wahtever".
  • "Undulating" is misspelled as "undualting".
  • "Harass" is misspelled as "harrass".
  • There are several instances where a space between words/punctuation has been omitted.

Inside References

  • "Let me in, dun dun dun, let me in!" (in the Butcher Bros Represent entry) is a line from 3 Times Halloween Funjob, in which Homestar knocks on Marzipan's door with his head.
