The American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest has been referenced by The Brothers Chaps numerous times within the Homestar Runner body of work.
Appearances
- The clothing brand Styles Upon Styles is a reference to a lyric from "Buggin' Out", a song on the seminal 1991 album The Low End Theory.
- The Cheat Commandos' catchphrase, "rock, rock on", may be a quote from the song "The Chase, Part II", from the album Midnight Marauders, which features a long section of Q-Tip encouraging various groups, cities and countries to "rock, rock on".
- Email virus — The email intro is a reference to the song "Rhythm", from the album People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
- Weclome Back (DVD commentary) — The Brothers Chaps recall how they once played a Tribe Called Quest cover in a battle of the bands contest.
- Trudgemank — Peacey P wears a shirt that reads "A Tribe Called Quest".
- I Killed Pom Pom — Coach Z dresses up as the character commonly featured on the band's album covers.
