Ryan North

Ryan North is a writer and comic author. As a fellow internet creator, he became "email friends" with the Brothers Chaps in the 2000s.[1]
North penned "The Story of Peasant Handsomeface and Trogdor", a short story originally written for the Trogdor!! The Board Game Kickstarter.[2] He also helped playtest the board game.[3]

Ryan North has been writing the webcomic Dinosaur Comics since 2003. The comic features the same layout (six panels featuring a T-Rex, Utahraptor and Dromiceiomimus on simplistic backgrounds) for nearly every strip, with only the dialogue changing day by day. In a 2006 interview, Matt Chapman listed the webcomic as a favorite that the brothers read regularly.[4]
Jibblies 2, the 2007 Halloween toon, introduced Strong Mad's stuffed dromiceiomimus doll Poodonkis. The plush toy's pose is based on the Dinosaur Comics character.[5] North acknowledged this "sweet cameo" on his site,[6] joking that, since he had previously referenced Homestar Runner in Dinosaur Comics,[7] "our websites are married now".
North was a guest at ROFLCon 2008, as were the Brothers Chaps (both were panelists, though they were not on the same panels). At the convention, an OLPC XO laptop was signed by many figures in attendance including North and the Chaps; this laptop model would go on to inspire Homestar Runner's Happy 8600.
