Anybody ele find it odd that the last update was posted yesterday the 8th, yet the main page message says the 9th? — User:ACupOfCoffee@ @ 22:21, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Although...I wasn't able to see the "Nothing else!" message until today. I'll have to check and see if Denny's Menu still has the new rap butony goes up to portrait. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ @ 22:25, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
I remember the site being updated shortly after midnight (Eastern, of course) last night and that's when the What's New on the main page was updated. —Zelinda 22:31, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
The highschool article was created at 23:02 Eastern on 8 January 2006. At that time, the main page message also reported the date as the ninth. -- Tom 22:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Idea

Just got the idea looking at the updates page that it ought to be color coded.
you know 1 color for sbemails and another for podcasts another for the store and so on so people who look at tis page to see if theres a new sbemail can see it quickly
I'm not the most veteran wiki-er so I don't know the best way to implement this.

Something along these lines has been tested here. — It's dot com 19:40, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Looks fancy. I like it. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:33, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
I like it, too. Should we implemet it? --Thatkidsam 20:47, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
It could do with a key somewhere, I think. --DorianGray
Aren't the descriptions listed there to the right? I'm wondering if the colors aren't too subtle to be useful. — It's dot com 21:02, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Personal Information

Is it appropriate to list personal information on these specific pages - the Chapman/Palmer wedding, Don's passing? These are noted on the individual bio pages, and they are not site updates. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:15, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

We list interviews and public appearances, even though these aren't site updates. We should also list important events in the lives of the Chaps. Certainly the content of the site itself is colored by these events (indeed, only time will tell how Mr. Chapman's passing will affect things), and it's relevant to note where such events occur in the context of the toons. I don't think we should note yearly things (like birthdays, anniversaries, etc., unless they are important somehow), but one-time milestones deserve a place. — It's dot com 10:18, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Suggestion

Perhaps when you update the quote you could make it a link to the source of that quote. Because whenever I see the quote I can never remember where it's from, and even with this site it takes a while to find out.

If you click on Quote Of The Week on this page or the home page, it takes you to a page which provides exactly that information. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 15:43, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I know, but that's two clicks. If the quote itself actually linked to its source, that would be one click: that's half as many clicks! Hence, productivity would be doubled.
This is true - though "productivity" as an importance for a "stupid animal cartoon" seems a bit much. :) Seriously, we must weigh the consequence of an extra click over the consequence of clutter on the main page. As there's a lot of info and links on the main page, in my opinion it'd be convenient to some, but a cluttersome nuisance to others, to include an additional link in that line, and as the info is close at hand (one click from the Main Page) it's better put on its own page. Ref. the 09 Feb 2006 quote for an example of where it would be cumbersome to include this on the main page; and there are a few which we're not entirely positive of the source. Some are exclusives, too, so they have no source. --DorianGray
Besides, if you're talking about making the words of the quote into a link to the source, you'd still have to click the link to arrive at the toon and thus realize it's source. Clicking on "Quote of the Week" would also just be one click, and the result would be the same. Being told the source of the Quote of the Week. In conclusion, productivity probably wouldn't be affected much, and I think it'd be more confusing. Thunderbird 20:18, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

TMBG show

Shouldn't there be a notification (or an article) about the 5/3/06 show with TMBG?

We're working on it. -- Tom 20:56, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Done. Thunderbird 21:08, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Lack of updates question and answer

I had posted a question here, and it was deleted without an answer... I dont think its an unreasonable question, and this seems like the best place to ask it. I'm not trying to complain, or demand anything, I'm just curious if there's any thing going on in the world of H*R that explains why there hasnt been any new content in over a month. I'm really not trying to complain, I just want to know if there's some reason I'm unaware of. Summer vacation, speaking engagments, voodoo curse, doesnt matter. I'm just curious. -- Sean St.

The bottom line is, we don't know what is going on. There is a thread on the forums in which people are calmly discussing all the possibilities. Here's the link. Thanks for inquiring so rationally, and sorry you didn't get your answer the first time. —BazookaJoe 16:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I know that no one wants to see people saying "What?! Where's my entertainment! They owe me!," and that kind of crap. Its a difficult subject to approach, expecialy since we all respect the Brothers Chaps, and dont want to complain about this amazing stuff they do for us. -- Sean St.

RSS Feed

There use to be a RSS feed for this page (http://theblackforge.net/hrwiki.xml) - Anyone know what happened to that? It's a ton easier to get see updates in the aggregator instead of logging on all the time. Thanks - Andy
