subject: Minor edits

Hey HoveringSombrero. I've noticed you making a lot of good edits to the wiki. Thanks for that! The thing is, all your edits are marked as minor, when almost none of them are. According to Help:Editing, "the rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is limited to spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. A major edit is anything that makes the entry worth looking at for someone watching the article; any content change, even if it only involves a single word, is a major edit." Please don't mark your edits as minor unless they really are. It could be that you have "Mark all edits minor by default" checked in your preferences, in which case you should uncheck that. subject: Show Preview

Hello HoveringSombrero, I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. There was an edit you made that accidentally broke the tweets page and previewing how the page looks prior to saving would've helped catch this issue prior to saving.

Also, When editing a page, please remember to always fill in the summary field, as even a short summary is better than no summary. Indicate in the edit summary field why you changed the page; this will greatly help other contributors in understanding your reasoning.

In any case, I wanted to also thank you for contributing to this wiki! Your work and edits have helped keep this wiki in tip-top shape! So I did not want that going unsaid. Thanks, --Stux 19:49, 24 December 2022 (UTC)

subject: Your signature

Hey HoveringSombrero, I just noticed that after you uploaded your new picture, you replaced several instances of the picture in your signature across the wiki with the new picture. So you know, you can compile this information onto your signature page so that you don't have to do that. Pay attention to the guidelines here and here so you know what to do after you finish that page. Also, with apologies to how you have formatted this page, this didn't display correctly in the box, so I had to take it out:

It looks like it's a little bit too long as it stands (and it actually looked worse in the box than this). If you want to find a narrower font to use, like the one in my signature for example, that should fix the problem. The Knights Who Say Ni 17:35, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Well, now that It's dot com made your sections editable, you can see that it looked worse in the box. Now, if you type ~~~~ instead of typing out your name, it will post your signature along with a timestamp. (~~~ will do just a signature, and ~~~~~ will do just a timestamp.) I saw that you edited a misspelling of your name a couple days ago, so I figured this would help. The Knights Who Say Ni 06:42, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

subject: Sig Template

Hi HoveringSombrero, I noticed that you went ahead and created a signature template. However, it was created in the [[Template:]] namespace and not the [[User:]] namespace. The page should be moved (without redirect) to User:HoveringSombrero/sig. As far as I know that works (see Help:Signature for reference). HoveringSombrero - I started the previous section before you created the page, and I moved it to the correct namespace before noticing that Stux had written this. Whenever I sign my signature, it switches from the standard wiki font to the font of my signature. For example. Normal wiki font, and then HoveringSombrero (talk) then all of a sudden, BAM! Different font. What's up with that?

What? You would really appreciate it? Man, back in the olden days, I could get upwards of 3 chickens, a sack of barley and a half-dead goat for one of my cover album listens. We haven't gotten a bounceback message yet, and probably won't for several days. In the meantime, you can check your junk email settings to make sure hrwiki.org isn't blacklisted, or to explicitly whitelist us. You should also check your junk folder to make sure there's nothing there. My idea was just that I’d find someone who had a Reddit account (I dunno if you do), and pass her on a little idea, which was that she’d join the wiki, I’d create a separate page connected to my account, and then talk with her there. There’s a plan B involving a shared Bandcamp album, but I’d figure that plan A is my best shot. I’m ok if you don’t wanna be that guy, so.. I guess I’ll cry instead, as John Lennon would say. Sorry, I can't help you. As I have said before, the Hrwiki is a wiki for dumb animal characters created by the Brothers Chaps, not a place for personal issues.
