* No; it took me about a dozen tries. But I suck at Gradeus and such games (never played them very much, actually). I lost to him with ''eight'' shields one time; then I racked up twelve shields one time through (by starting in 9.1 and losing lives in a clever fashion) and beat him using a grand total of... one. Someone else can do the actual walkthroughs, I need to go to bed --phlip TC 15:13, 5 Sep 2005 (UTC)
The "PI... PI... PI..." is a possible reference to a boss in Bionic Commando that goes "PI PI PI..." when you enter its room.
- It's almost certainly that very reference. When I saw it, I had to think about what game it was from. Finally, it came to me. Also, the beginning of the cut-scene where Stinkoman is standing on a rock looking at the castle is directly out of Ninja Gaiden II (and perhaps NG I as well, though I don't recall). The castle is clearly a takeoff of Dr. Wily's castle from the Mega Man games.

If you look at the stage select screen, the stages are called 0.1 and 0.2. Also, it is kind of weird that the level number is ...5,6,7,0,9 (apparently there is no level 8...)
Anon (the same one) 9/5/2005 6:56 PM CST
I realize that but I'm being pedantic here. After you complete level 7, there is a glitch in the game and so you get sent to the negative zone (which although from a player's perspective is just a themed level 8, from the perspective of the game, it is a separate level found presumably elsewhere on the game cartridge (assuming we're retro here...) Then, once that level is completed, you somehow move onto level 9. So from this perspective, there is no "level 8". If I'm wrong in any of this information (I haven't actually completed the levels) please correct me.
The other flaw (the labeling of level 9.1 and 9.2) is more clear cut and should probably be added to the wiki as a glitch (or at the very least should be fixed by Videlectrix.)
Does anyone think the boss on this level is easy? I do. I beat the boss in 2 lives.-User:Catman87
- Yes; I beat it in one life. Let's be honest, though; this entire game is ridiculously easy.
- No; it took me about a dozen tries. But I suck at Gradeus and such games (never played them very much, actually). Jay, it's called Gradius. I play Gradius Collection, and I can get through Gradius 1 with one life(but I save a lot)
Clunky
Get this - I played this level on a slow computer that made it all clunky, and beat it fairly easily. Now, I play it on a computer that plays it perfecto, and I can't get far past this FIRST LEVEL!! - C.Olimar788
Flying into infinity
I don't know if this is a glitch or what, but whenever I touch the end flag in 9.2, nothing happens and I just keep flying through a blank level! Anybody experience this problem and/or know what to do?
- Yeah! I have the same problem... I'm also one of the people that doesn't have the full Stinkomanual. Is there a connection with that? It's really starting to annoy me...
The goal area doesn't line up with the flag - touching the flag itself does nothing. The narrow path you're supposed to be flying along goes directly under it, and the goal area is right at the end of that path. --phlip TC 00:18, 12 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Can someone add an image for level 9?--~~Ampi~~meowarchives 23:40, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I'm not sure where on the page to put it, though.
X On Fire (SSX)
Wow, that Prudench is totally eating that Reid. --DorianGray
I think that line would fit the capttion perfectly. If you don't mind, I'd like to use it. I'm going to put it up right now, but you can tell me wether you want me to use it or not. X On Fire (SSX)
- Oh, of course. Go right ahead. --DorianGray
