Strong Sad's tape player is a '70s-style tape recorder. These machines lack a radio and simply record and play back audio using cassette tape. Strong Sad has used his to play various sound effects in a few different locations, including a cheering sound to support the Homestarmy in the Strong Bad Email army and a message from Strong Sad on Main Page 23 when the user's mouse hovers over "Email". Strong Bad stole the tape player in impression so that he could win the "Strong Sad Lookalike Contest".
