Template talk:Decemberweenvent Calendar
From Homestar Runner Wiki
[edit] List format
- Debut: Email some kinda robot — Do you take off your face and hands before you go to bed?
- Decemberweenvent Calendar — Day 6 — I hope this one has an amoeba shaped like a cow talking to a caveman saying some real smart science words I'll have to look up later.
- Email mascot — Real fruit smoothies are at stake.
- Bug In Mouth Disease — The good times are over.
- Decemberweenvent Calendar – Day 4 — It's like a stovepipe hat full of gruel, poor air quality, and inhumane working conditions.
- 3 Times Halloween Funjob — What are we doing here? Making omelettes? Going to the bathroom? I'm cool with that.
- Decemberweenvent Calendar (Day 12) — Heavens, I just hate you so much!
- Email japanese cartoon — Challenge and fighting and fighting that challenge tonight, somethin' and a somethin' and a somethin' and a somethin' and a—
- Strongest Man in the World — You can not be ready.
- Decemberweenvent Calendar: Day 5 — That name is dumb. It sounds like it is soooo dumb.
- Summer Short Shorts — Well, she was only twenty-seventeen. She was a low-res beauty queen.
I've made a list of appearances of toons that happened to be in my head right now to illustrate three ways we could format the list version of this template: em dash, en dash, or parentheses. I changed the actual template from an em dash to an en dash because I thought the longer dash seemed a bit much, especially in a list with other dashes. I'm now wondering if parentheses might look better than either of the dash styles. — It's dot com 20:25, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- I'm leaning toward parentheses myself. It looks the best and is more consistent with how stuff like @StrongBadActual tweets are listed.

- I've found that a colon works well when having two dashes makes it look too long.
- Decemberweenvent Calendar: Day 99 — Deck the Halls with Lots of Floor Wax
- instead of the option for Day 6 above. Or do we need anything?
- Decemberweenvent Calendar Day 86 — I'm Dreaming of a White Bulldog
- Just a thought.

- I added an example with the colon, which actually doesn't look too shabby. I think it's between that or the parentheses. I think we need something, so not nothing. — It's dot com 02:37, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- I think the parens looks best. -126.233.145.128 05:35, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. I think the parentheses have grown on me and I appreciate Gfdgsgxgzgdrc's observation that they'd be consistent with @StrongBadActual tweet formatting. --Stux 13:06, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- Looks like there's consensus for parentheses. I've updated the template and we can see how we like it in actual articles. — It's dot com 15:37, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict'd) Funny enough, as I recall, I preferred using colons on the Twitter post formatting too. Not sure if that's relevant here. Also, there's a man in my hometown who wrote humorous parodies of Christmas songs to perform at the annual Christmas show, and that's what the examples I used came from.
