Talk:URLs that end in 2

[edit] Delete?

I'm not sure this warrants a page. Yes, it would be interesting if the 2 in the html file name would be a secret hint at a first version/episode. But it's most likely an internal version of the toon. They just weren't happy with the first version, made a second one and were just too lazy to rename the files. Who knows how many toons on the site are second, third, fourth, fifth versions of the initial draft? It doesn't matter because the version that TBC put online is the one they deem good enough for us to watch, and the discarded ones were just work in progress. It may be notable that there aren't rogue 3's or 4's in file names, but it doesn't warrant its own page. Loafing 11:35, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

It's kind of cool to have the page, something I would've never thought of. No reason to get rid of it. --TimMierz 17:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
I think it's an oddity that happens enough that it's both notable and interesting. Keep. — Defender1031*Talk 19:47, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

It's intresting. It happens in something other than toons and that seems intresting. keep--Mariofan1000 14:24, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Del Taco it. It's kind of interesting, but I agree with Loafing. Will people really want to go to this page? I only stumbled upon this page by accident while trawling through varying toons' pages while bored. Strong Vader 05:42, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Do Tim or Mariofan count as "people"? I can't speak for them, but i know i'm certainly a person and i found this page interesting... — Defender1031*Talk 05:45, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Let's put this as a category page, or maybe a section in the Toons page, then. Strong Vader05:49, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Should we also add the millions thousands hundreds tens of Strong Bad Emails that have 2's in them (sbemail2, sbemail12,sbemail20-29, etc.)? It's 1 AM in Ft. Worth; that's the best humor I can come up with at short notice. Strong Vader 06:03, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Not sure if you're implying the suggestion is a joke or just the decrementing numbers... so i'll answer as if the latter. No, this is only for toons that inexplicably have a 2 in them, not ones that are part of a series. — Defender1031*Talk 06:08, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I think this page documents an interesting and noteworthy topic, so I don't think it should be deleted. Having said that, one flaw I see is that this prose intro is pretty dull and I struggle to think of a way to improve it. Still, that's not a sufficient reason to delete. Heimstern Läufer 06:09, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
If the introduction was rewritten (I did a modification of it, but it's pretty rough), this would be a fine article. Keep. One thing, though, should we include Jibblies 2 on this page? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 06:36, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I like how you mentioned its similarity in the intro, but not in the main list. I think that works. — Defender1031*Talk 13:46, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I suppose this works. Strong Vader 15:08, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Another URL with 2 in it!

It's ""

Hope this helps...

-A*R I add this to the page?

-A*R (forgot to log in)

You know, you don't have ask to put that on the article. It's a valid example, so go ahead. free 22:55, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] swf file

What do we do about files that don't have a 2 in the html name, but they do in the swf name? for example, whatsinthebag.html = whatsinthebag2.swf The Knights Who Say Ni 00:44, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Well? free 21:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Aside from listing them on this page, which seems like an obvious thing to do, what else would you want done with them? — Defender1031*Talk 21:43, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I was rushing when I wrote that. I figure we'd have another section called "swfs with 2s in them", or something like that. I don't want to be the one finding all the 2 swfs, but I figure no one else will, so there's cantsayjob2, whatsinthebag2, and...I'll get the rest later. Unless someone wants to help. UNLESS SOMEONE WANTS TO HELP. HELLO? free 01:03, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
An article on "SWFs With the Number 2 In Them" doesn't sound like a bad idea. There have been quite a few (mainly early toons) that had this. I'm also willing to help find the SWFs with 2 in them. That'sBupkis! 01:18, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
No one proposed a separate article, and i don't think it needs one. An item on this list with (flash file only) next to it will suffice. — Defender1031*Talk 01:33, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
I've found these SWFs:
Maybe there could be SWFs with 2 in them listed below where the URLs are listed. It may not need a separate page. That'sBupkis! 01:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
On an opposite note, it looks like characters2.html = characters.swf The Knights Who Say Ni 05:18, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Rename?

Maybe this should be "Irregular URLs." A Jorb Well Done has a URL of "cantsayjob", SBEmails 100, 149.5, that Senior Prom one and 200 have different URLs that what are supposed to be, as sbemailahundred, sbemail149pernt5, kotpoptoon, and sbemailtwohundred. What do you guys think?

Nah, this is specifically about 2s, not urls with funny names. if there's enough though, that might not make a bad page separate from this one. — Defender1031*Talk 05:31, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
URLs that end in 2!--Cheergly (talk) · 19:54, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
The wiki is a community effort, so don't just move the page without warning. Make the suggestion first, then wait for consensus agreement before moving the page. However, you have made a reasonable suggestion for a renaming. I'm not sure how we should consider this if the page has already been moved. The Knights Who Say Ni 20:03, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
For what it's worth, a little discussion on a title almost identical to Cheergly's is found below. There wasn't exactly very much consensus - all of two people, myself included - but not a single retractor. --Jay (Talk) 20:15, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit] I know you guys are not supposed to talk about it...

But I've found out the URL for Spin N' Say is spinandsay2.html, and it's still on the site, so should it be added as "Who Said What Now? Old Version" or something? —h o mj esa na rtalk contr. 22:39, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... that's a hard one. It's an example, but we aren't allowed to talk about it? Should we vote on it or something? --_-Dr. S-_ 02:12, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Reiteration

This page has been long, long forgotten, so I thought it would be appropriate to give it the attention it needs. There's a lot of linking to do here, because many of these articles on this very page don't link to this page at all. There also is an appalling lack of caring for what goes on it and what doesn't. And frankly, this page could use a better title. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 05:58, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

What sort of a better title do you mean? The page title is exactly what the page is about. If you can say it with less words (and still remain unambiguous) then okay, but the best I see is removing the words "In Them". --Jay (Talk) 08:04, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
How about URLs ending in 2 ? OptimisticFool 23:42, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Hm, as long as they all do end in 2 (and so far they do) that's fine by me. --Jay (Talk) 00:09, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
