[edit] Don't eat it like the cartoon man

Alright, there have been some edits going around, and in lieu of an edit war, I decided to take it here. It seems that some contributors have made the slogan "Portly Washboy, don't eat it like the cartoon man". Now, I for one am in full disagreement, and would favor "Portly Washboy: don't eat it like the cartoon, man" as the proper grammartization. I believe that man is the listener, let's call him Joe for this example. "Portly Washboy, don't eat it like the cartoon, Joe" as opposed to informing Joe to not eat Portly Washboy in a manner in keeping with the Cartoon Man. Any other opinions out there? I went and listened to it. I was expecting to hear "cartoon man" (since that makes more sense to me), but it really sounds like "cartoon, man". There's a lot of silence in between the two words, whereas if they were referring to "the cartoon man", I would expect the words to come closer together.
Also, as a small supporting fact to this, he's a portly washboy, so it would be unexpected (though not impossible) for him to be called a man in the same sentence.
So, I agree with you. Trey56 06:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
