[edit] Doppel or Toppel
The transcript uses the actual word doppelganger, while the inside reference is to the Toppelgangers. Is the transcript wromg? -173.3.112.55 13:50, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- I thought it sounded like "toppleganger" when I was transcribing it, but I'd forgotten about The Topplegangers, so I figured I was just mishearing. But I wasn't, Toppleganger is right, and I've already fixed the transcript as soon as I saw the inside ref. --phlip TC 13:57, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Get back to work, guys.
I think Reynolds brother says "Get back to work, Charles." and don't we already know that Charles is Gunhaver's first name from let us give tanks? Javaguy78 14:06, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've listened to it several times, and I believe this is true. I'm gonna change it. It also makes makes sense since Crackotage and Silent Rip are actually working Javaguy78 14:10, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Does this mean...
...that next week there is gonna be another Cheat Commando's? User:MICGAGUH
- Given the last time we had a two-part toon? Might be tomorrow. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 19:41, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] white screen
A decompiler, a Flash Seek Bookmarklet, or the Greasemonkey script reveals a white screen before the TV Easter egg can be accessed.
I removed this from the Easter Eggs section, because that's certainly not the right place for it. I considered placing it elsewhere on the page, but decided not to because it doesn't seem that notable. The HRWiki:Standards as I interpret them, seems we don't mention such things unless they are clearly meant to be discovered and/or add something relevant to the cartoon (E.g. "Nice try, dodongo" and —by Strong Bab). Just thought I'd mention my rationale here, if others feel that it really deserves a mention in the article, I don't have a strong opinion against that. Green Helmet 19:56, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Definitely notable, but seemingly unintentional. Seems like a goof or a remark to me. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 21:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Things like this have been remarked before, such as the dancing feet or the extra frames in Not the Hundredth E-mail. -MNGoldenEagle 21:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Doorbell
Does anyone know the name of the "ditty" that the doorbell plays? I know that it is commonly used to depict a ringing doorbell, but I don't want to add it to the real-world references section without knowing the name. Monkeytender 21:50, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- See wikipedia:Westminster Quarters (added a note under Remarks). Green Helmet 22:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Why isn't this considered a Real-World Ref? Monkeytender 22:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- In my opinion, it belongs under Explanations because it's not referring to any specific clock (or doorbell). That tune is very commonly used for clocks and doorbells. Green Helmet 22:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- But look at Donut Unto Others. A common tune was used in that toon as well, and that was put in Real World Refs. Monkeytender 22:50, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah guys, that doorbell was totally awesome! It sounds familiar though. Fingerface 23:54, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] With a vengeance
The credits say this show was "written with a vengeance by A.Chimendez". We already know he and Crack Stuntman have creative differences and that Gunhaver was nearly written off the show because of it. Now, in this episode, Gunhaver is fired. Am I on to something? TJDevil02 02:51, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think you're right. This needs to be discussed further. — MichaelXX2 03:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] All Ashore
- Admiral is the highest rank in a naval force, which makes it interesting that Flashfight takes charge of the Cheat Commandos, considering they're mostly ground-based forces.
Is this worth pointing out somewhere? --President Cold One 09:28, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- For shore (please don't make fun of that pun). --Jellote 10:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- All of the contents of this cartoon suggest that the Cheat Commandos are administered by BE(E)FF, which is probably an international organization. The fact that Admiral Flashfight and Fightgar both seem to be British and Ripberger has an accent would jive with this, too. And, such an international organization could involve a collaboration among various armed services (Flashfight coming from a Navy, Crackotage coming from an Air Force?). Meh? Durniel 06:55, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] 3 for 1
The Cheat Commandos ththeme song goes "Cheat Commandos, maybe fighting for freedom, and each is sold separately. Cheat Commandos, they're probably battling evil. Buy all our playsets and toys!" Is it notable that Green Helmts are 3-for-11, but their theme song says "each is sold separately." TheFunmachine 11:28, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's notable that although the Green Helmets are part of a "discount three pack", they cost the same as any other CCdo. Although, come to think of it, three for the price of one is a bargain. Neox ONION BUBS! 16:24, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Don't forget, that the Green Helmet is analogous to a redshirt on the original Star Trek (i.e. expendable), so, naturally they'd be cheaper. Javaguy78 18:13, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Opps! Sorry. I meant 3 for 1, as in them not being sold separately, where the theme song says "each is sold separately" However, but they're Green Helmets, so maybe they're not like the rest. TheFunmachine 11:33, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Gasp!
For some reason, I can only hear Fightgar gasping during the scene when Flashfight fires people. Anyone else? -76.119.99.198
[edit] Section?
I honestly don't know what section this one belongs in, but... During the scene where Gunhaver, Silent Rip, and Crackotage are talking outside the headquarters, Gunhaver's face can be seen painted on the door, along with a word bubble reading, "Rock, rock on!" ... Actually, is this even notable enough to be put in?
- The best place for this information is in the transcript itself. Why not go ahead and add it there? – The Chort 14:24, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Extra Melty?
Isn't that a reference to the Meltymens? DJmankiewicz 13:21, 2 June 2009 (CST)
- Meaning the fan stuff thing? Granted there are three of them in that, too, but I think this is more likely just a reference to practice of melting action figures like G. I. Joes. Probably not a deliberate connection. Durniel 19:12, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think is's a reference to 8-Bit is Enough where Strong Bad comments that he thinks the Topplegangers would be "Real Melty". VmKid 02:16, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Oh yeah! Them.
I beleive the way Crackotage goes into great detail about the Topplegangers refers to the way many cartoons introduce recurring characters to new audiences or to make a new character(s) seem old: way drawn out and pointlessly explanatory. Example:
- Itchy : Hey look Scratchy, its our old friend, Poochy!
- Scratchy: What's his name? I forgot.
- Poochie: {does a rap about himself}
source: The Simpsons: The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochy Show.
See what I mean? I just don't know how to word this so it makes sense in the article. --Jellote 23:21, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, exposition has to happen to some degree in all fiction, and there are only so many ways to do it. I don't see how this case is a reference to any other instance of it. It doesn't really even seem to be poking fun at the sometimes-ridiculous expository dumps that happen pretty often in serial cartoons / sitcoms / etc. It's just TBC using a little humorous dialog as a way of legitimately needed exposition for us, much the same way any other fiction would. Green Helmet 23:36, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

You can rewind!!!!! GASP! ColdReactive 15:06, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] g focrei s same execpt for the bad resturant deal
Homestar saying hamsters instend of chat is Disney movie G-Force
- You're saying that Homestar confusing the words "cheat" and "hamster" is from the Disney movie G-Force? Well, I've never seen the movie (and even if I had, I wouldn't remember one line), but feel free to add it! free 23:22, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Crackotage NOT Rhyming?
Did anyone else notice how at the end of the toon, Crackotage doesn't even pretend to rhyme? I mean, even in Commandos in the Classroom, he still talked with a funny rhythm like he normally does, but here he actually speaks normally every scene after they're kicked out of the Cheat Commandos.--76.197.56.155 06:29, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, you're right, but I'm not sure it's noteworthy. Is rhyming, like, part of his job?? I don't know. free 12:56, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- I sar that too. I've never seen that guy not rhyming.
- Way way later, yes, but an easter egg in 2 Part Episode: Part 2 confirmed that, yes, rhyming is part of his job. Once he was rehired by the Cheat Commandos, he went right back to his rhyming. --President Cold One 22:15, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- I sar that too. I've never seen that guy not rhyming.
[edit] Homestar's Brim
Is it just me, or does the brim of Homestar's hat in the easter egg look odd? Man-o-man 17:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Flash file deleted?
I tried to watch this 'toon, but it just showed a white square and the navigation bar under it. When I tried to go to the flash file, it just led me to the "404'd" page. Did TBC delete the flash file? I'm pretty sure that this isn't because of my computer because when I went to 2 Part Episode: Part 2, it showed the 'toon. --Particleman24 00:05, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's not just your computer. It's not loading for me either, and 404'd for the Flash File. Does this mean that they're going to combine the episodes? I dunno. free 00:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

- I'm not seeing it on my work computer, but my work computer sometimes has the funniest things happen concerning H*R. It would almost certainly be more meaningful to test on my home computer... when I get home. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 01:31, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

It has been theorized before that the H*R site is hosted on multiple servers, with a load balancer to distribute between them. I think this is a pretty likely theory, and if the file was for some reason removed from one of the servers but not the other(s), that would explain why it randomly works for some people but not others. Should there be a mirror? Hagurumon 15:19, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, add a mirror. I don't know why it works for YOU, but it seems definitely down. I got bupkis. --Jellote 19:53, 11 June 2009 (UTC) Update It is definitely removed. I viewed the source, and it came up flat. Just a bunch of non-flash coding. It was actually a code for a blank background. Maybe it got De-le-ted. User:Jellote, again.

Okay, I just shot an e-mail to the Brothers Chaps explaining the problem, including screenshots and a link to this discussion. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved as soon as they can get to it. In the meantime, thanks to whomever set up the mirror. --Spiralagnus 01:05, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Blue Laser, A DAD?
In the second easter egg with the Blue Laser minions BLUE LASER MINION 1: You think dad just forgot to pick us up?
BLUE LASER MINION 2: You know he doesn't like it when we call him that.
Do you think that It's true?
- I think we report what is said, and don't speculate. There's a whole forum where they love this sort of speculation though. Why not try there? — Defender1031*Talk 14:13, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I have the exact opposite oppinion. I think that the egg denies the rumors he is. --Jellote wuz here 14:29, 25 June 2009 (UTC).
- I think it's relevant to address the question here, as if the egg implied he actually was a father, we'd want to at least note it on BLC's page. However, I don't think there's anything in the egg definitive enough to make that conclusion (and I agree with Jellote that it leads more credence to the opposite). -128.103.10.135 15:31, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Isn't this a reference to the ending scene from Battlestar Galactica ("You know [God] doesn't like that name")? 71.241.148.116 03:23, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I see a different connection in this. Could these two minions be "The Twins" from Shopping For Danger? And if so, does that make them around four years old? And if so, does that mean that The Cheat species can mature much faster than humans can?
[edit] Buh-buh-buh, wuh-wuh-wuh, zuh-zuh-zuh...
It should be significant that when Gunhaver says "wuh-wuh-wuh" he holds his arms up like a W, and when he says "zuh-zuh-zuh" he bends them like a Z. The joke doesn't make sense if he's just {shaking}. — 96.234.74.23 (Talk | contribs) 23:13, 25 October 2009 (left unsigned)
