For real is an informal expression meaning "actually so, genuine".

  • Hairstyle Runner — One description in the gallery reads "homestar kotter for real".
  • Wonkavision Magazine Interview — Regarding the Sno-Cones he sells, Bubs says, "There's a little bit of Bubs in every one. For real."
  • King of TownmailThe Paper declares, "No one really wants to email the King of Town. For real."
  • UMFM Interview - 20 May 2003 — Interviewer Kevin Scott says, "And Charles Schulz – I thought he was a bit of a sadist for a while." Matt Chapman replies, "Yeah, for real!" And later, in describing Bubs's dancing ability, Matt says, "He can cut a rug for real."
  • Email the process — One Easter egg includes a picture of hands holding a book with the caption "But For Real, Enjoy Certain Words!!"
  • The Poopsmith's Character Video — Homestar says, "No for real. The Poopsmith is a good guy. He just got a crappy job."
  • Email stunt double — A newspaper appears, its headline covered with a piece of paper that reads, "MiSSiNG TAPE STOLEN!!! Dangeresque seen on the case. For real."
  • Email labor dayStrong Bad comments that Pom Pom "needs to get a life for real".
  • Email couch patch — Strong Bad types "no for real, print me out a million dollar bill, man.exe" into the Compy 386.
  • Sbemail 100 fakeout — A note gets slapped onto the screen that reads "Keep your pants on. For real."
  • Peasant's Quest — The description of the TrogSword begins with "The TrogSword is for real." Also, if you attempt to give the trinket to the woman in her cottage, the following displays: "Did you find that thing in my yard?" she asks. "I got that thing free in a box of Plaguezees. I need some FOR REAL riches!"
  • Email time capsule — Strong Bad says that he is talking about a "f'real capsule".
  • Happy Fireworks — Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat's sign reads "The fireworks guys (f'real)".
  • Strong Bad is a Bad Guy — Homestar says he'd get a tattoo on his forearm that says "The For Real Deal".
  • retirement — Strong Bad says that "the cliffhangers have been for reallysolved".
  • Decemberween Short Shorts — Homestar sings, "A-listen to me now. Cheer up, Coach Z. It doesn't have to be creepy and depressing all the time." Coach Z responds, "For real?"
  • KOT's VOQPCS! — This short is a reference to senior prom, in which the King of Town gets his own cartoon show, only to be quickly preempted by Strong Bad's Very Popular Cartoon Show. The King acknowledges this when he says "For reals this time!" That exclamation is also the page title of the short.
  • Email environmentMarzipan says, "Strong Bad, every time you press enter on the Lappy, the rest of us lose power." Strong Bad replies, "For real?"

  • Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective — In the epilogue of the game, Strong Bad says, "Uh oh, this is starting to turn into an unruly mob. ... For REAL this time... looks like I'm gonna have to JUMP!"
  • 8-Bit Is Enough — Strong Bad tells Homestar that he (Homestar) swallowed a quarter; Homestar retorts, "Get serious for real, Strong Bad."
  • Where U Goin' 2? — One line of lyrics in the song is, "Ah, f'rllz, oh tell me what's the dealz".
  • The toons menu description for Pistols for Pandas reads "Crack Stuntman shills for rllz."
  • Poker Night at the Inventory — Strong Bad says he wants Tycho to tell him he won again because that's what happened "for real and for true". Also, in an argument with Strong Bad, Tycho says his site gets millions of visitors a month "for real".
  • The Main Page Message for A Decemberween Mackerel was "new holiday toon!", which when you rolled over it, read "for real!" There hadn't been a new toon released in over eight months (or a non-April Fools' toon in over a year).
