- This plant has no official name. "Weird Shrub" is from the cover of "The Homeless Romantic: verses from the weird shrub and alarming recipes for brunswick stew" seen in love poems.
In the email kind of cool, it is implied that Senor Cardgage lives in a shrub, or at least that he suspiciously comes out from behind bushes and shrubs a lot. One weird shrub in particular has made recurring appearances when Senor Cardgage is around.
The DVD commentaries for Senor Mortgage and kind of cool point out that the shrub was originally going to be named Strongberg, though this idea seems to have been abandoned.

- Email love poems (Easter egg) — The book "The Homeless Romantic" written by Senor Cardgage features the weird shrub on its cover.
- A Decemberween Mackerel — In the spirit of Decemberween, and as an act of charity, Homestar Runner and Marzipan go to visit Senor Cardgage at the weird shrub, which is covered in snow.
