:Sorry to keep posting messages, but I just want to say one thing. In the future, you can't just move an article without telling/asking anyone if it's a good idea. "Grumblecakes" seems like a better name then "Grumblecake." I know (or at least, think) you didn't mean for it to be harmful, but people will consider something like that a troll. Thanks. 04:58, 25 November 2005 (UTC) | :Sorry to keep posting messages, but I just want to say one thing. + | I've noticed you seem quite concerned about copyrights around here. While I share your concerns and don't want to do anything illegal, I'm not sure you fully understand what "fair use" means. You recently removed an image from the history page. Your stated reason was that fair use didn't apply because the page didn't specifically reference the toon the image was taken from. I assure you, whether the page referenced the toon or not, we are still free to post the screenshot under fair use law. Else, it would be illegal for this page to exist as well. I'm impressed by your boldness and I don't want to discourage you from contributing, but the only person who stands a chance of being sued for copyright violation is myself, and I have stated in writing (in the disclaimer) that I believe we are operating under fair use. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and I'm willing to face the consequences of that if it ever comes to it. TBC have been extremely supportive of us so far (though that support certainly doesn't imply legal permission), but the moment they ask us to remove anything from the site we will be more than happy to comply. Until then, there's no need for you to worry so much about it. Thanks. — 01:13, 2 December 2005 (UTC) |

[edit] Welcome!
Welcome to the Homestar Runner Wiki! We're glad to have you as a member. If you need any help, feel free to ask me, a sysop, or anyone on the welcoming committee. You can also post questions on the FAQ talk page.
Here are some tips to get you started:
- To learn about the wiki, go to the about page.
- If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the help page.
- Before you do any significant editing, be sure to familiarize yourself with our wiki standards.
- Read up on the rules and guidelines for your user page. What you're reading right now, by the way, is the "Talk:" page that goes with your user page. It's a good way to communicate directly with specific users. The best way to respond, though, is on the same user page where the conversation was started. E.g. if you have a question, go to my user talk page and edit it, then watch my page (via Recent changes) for a response.
- If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to The Stick.
- You may want to practice your editing in The Sandbox.
- Take a look at the list of common misspellings.
- If you're looking for more community interaction, you can also register over at wiki forum.
- To learn about all our awesome pages, take a trip on the Wiki tour.
- Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!
Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it. After all, your user page belongs to you. I hope this information is helpful, and that you'll have a good experience contributing to our knowledge-base and our community.
Sincerely, — talk Bubsty edits and The Homestarrunner Welcoming Committee.

I've noticed you seem quite concerned about copyrights around here.
