HRWiki Mirror
-
Can we get HRWiki mirrors for every old scroll button song possible? Similar to the one featured in If I Ran the Camera? That way it'd be neater, more secure, and updated so people can listen to ones like the Rando song. - 16:13, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

-
:If I Ran the Camera is kind of a special case in the fact that this is (or at least was at the time of creation) the only mirror for the toon. We don't want to start mirroring everything in our little wiki. I'm pretty sure our links to mirror websites are more than enough in this case. 16:18, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

-
Original mirror of If I Ran the Camera. So... that arguement isn't really true, as the HRWiki mirror came from that one. And I don't trust these mirror sites too much as they seem to have stopped updating. (So they might go offline at any moment, I think.) But I guess I'm fine with them. But what about the modern scroll button song that has no mirror? Are we going to make one for that? - 16:24, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

-
:Oh you're right. Sorry about that. My bad. You make a pretty good case. Alright, I'm behind you, but you gotta get the vote of an admin too, to upload around a dozen toon mirrors. 16:28, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

No SB and song during vacation
-

-
I think that the fact that Strong Bad's "Scroll buttons, what is UP?" quote should have ended upon the release of vacation, and I find that Strong Bad's presence during that email is questionable. So why not replace the end date (which is the date before the release of invisibility) with the date before the release of vacation?

-

-
All I'm sayin' is, Strong Bad wasn't here in the vacation menu.

-

-
: So, you're saying Strong Bad didn't appear in vacation? Uuuh, yeah he did, he answered the email.

-

-
No, no, no. It was the sbemail menu that listed sbemails 1 through 40. That's what I meant. --69.19.14.44 14:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Every mirror starting with the highschool song lists portrait as the newest email. (As well as the 1 before that, but that's not a problem) Is this intentional? Bad Bad Guy 22:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

-
:And if it was intentional, why do the mirrors of these songs leave out the newest emails at their last time of use? How did you remove those emails from the list? What do Strong Bad's parents look like? Bad Bad Guy 19:19, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

-
::Okay, in case you guys don't understand my posts, let me try to give an example. I'll use the "I scroll it up high, you scroll it down low," song since it was the 1 being used when I 1st got into Sbemails. If the mirror of that song is supposed to accurately reenact the menu from that era, it should have all the emails from some kinda robot to what I want, but the list stops at portrait. The song from April 20th 2004 has the first mouse-controlled (click and drag) scrollbar, as referenced in the song. Before that, you could only click on the up and down scroll buttons to move the list. Should this be noted under Inside References?

And that's why I like to pause with punctuation
-

-
There should not, cannot, and will not be a comma between "mé" and "when" in the current scroll button rap. It is improper grammar. The fact that there is a pause is no excuse for a comma where a comma simply does not go. Now then, ellipsis? Is that one really necessary? It's not that long a pause, and it's a necessary pause to keep the beat. -- 19:15, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

The new 2021 sbemail menu lets you listen back to any of the previous scroll button songs, and I believe I heard one or two from the Tandy era that we don't currently have an audio link for. These songs might have just been recovered!

-
:I poked around in the source code and found how they store the songs. The base is https://homestarrunner.com/assets/sbemails/sounds/scrollsongX_Y.mp3 where X is a number related to the Computer on screen (1 for Lappier, 2 for Compe, 3 for Lappy, 4 for Compy386 and 5 for Tandy) and y is a number related to what song to play.
