Not to mention the "Thnikkaman Singers," who surprisingly are Bubs clones. You may have noticed I've fooled around with the list, but you get the picture, right? Afterall, this is a discussion page. The article can be called 'Offscreen Singers.'

I just don't see how this is worthy of an article. What's next? Generic Singers? --Trogga 20:00, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Would that be such a bad page? — Defender1031*Talk 20:09, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
See HRWiki:Spoons --Trogga 20:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Doesn't fall under that concept. If spoons were to suddenly appear randomly all over the place (like, not in a kitchen or dining room), they'd be worth an article too. Likewise, having an announcer start announcing things, or singers start singing out of nowhere is notable as it's used in a sense beyond that which would be considered normal. — Defender1031*Talk 20:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
If that were the focus of the page, DeFender, I'd agree. But it isn't, clearly, based on the prevalence of items detailing how an announcer announces something in a context where you'd expect to hear an announcer announce an announcement. So I think it is Spoons at present - not that we cannot tighten the focus to only reflect announcements in unusual or unexpected places. [edit] The distinguishable ones

Perhaps we could also make a list of announcers whose voices have appeared more than once, like the Cheat Commandos one, the one during the Balding Man scenes, etc. It might look something like this:

Cheat Commandos announcerCheat Commandos, Cheat Commandos...O's, pizzaz

Profit(?) announcerSenor Mortgage, Senorial Day, theme song

Caption announcerradio, secret recipes

Just thought I'd bring that up. --Charlie Jr. 18:07, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and now I'm starting to notice the third (or fourth instance?) of the announcer with a voice that says things like "Mmmmmm" and "That's right." We can't forget him, can we? --Charlie Jr. 16:19, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Where's The Cheat?

Shouldn't the announcer introducing the Homestar Jr. at the end of "Where's The Cheat?" be included? (His voice, in fact, also appears multiple times, such as in "Strong Bad Sings".)

Consider it done.--Charlie Jr. 00:14, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Separation?

Why is this separated by "strong bad emails" and "other"? section splits like that should only be used where the separation pertains to the joke, like if the joke appears differently in one category or whatnot. this seems pointless... — Defender1031*Talk 03:57, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Picture idea...

Anyone think the megaphone from aDDD would be a good picture for this article? I know that's the non-generic announcer speaking there, but it seems like the only thing that could represent announcers. Dr. Clash 04:06, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I was also thinking about the Old-Timey radio at the beginning of Sickly Sam's Big Outing. Something that suggests there's speaking going on in the picture, at least, is a good place to start. --DorianGray 04:32, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Need to redirect

I'm considering redirecting this article to "Announcers and Narrators," because apparently, some of the offscreen voices have been referred to as "Narrators" for one reason or another. And the word 'generic' seems a bit unnecessary. So how does one redirect a page? Now as for an article with offscreen, unseen singers, I've got a list for whomever would like to start it:

  • Nearly every Cheat Commandos toon.
  • stupid stuff (easter egg)
  • Senor Mortgage
  • for kids
  • pizzazz (without a fourth z)
  • best thing (in showing of VHS and in intro)
  • The Lil' Brudder Show
  • A Folky Tale
  • geddup noise
  • theme song
  • road trip
  • 4 branches
  • unnatural
  • The King of Town's Very Own Quite Popular Cartoon Show
  • yes, wrestling
  • nightlife
  • Where U Goin' 2?
  • independent film (because "independent" seems too vague)
  • Protest Song in Strong Badia the Free
  • Baddest of the Bands

Not to mention the "Thnikkaman Singers," who surprisingly are Bubs clones. You may have noticed I've fooled around with the list, but you get the picture, right? Afterall, this is a discussion page. The article can be called 'Offscreen Singers.' --Charlie Jr. 19:37, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
