Deleting articles

Hello, Witchesbrew82. Only sysops can delete articles (what you are doing is not deleting, but merely blanking the article), so you will need to leave this to a sysop. Thanks. Heimstern Läufer 20:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

i am sorry that i deleted the article. i thought that if i blanked it it would ceace to exist.--Wichesbrew82 20:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
It's OK. Also, note that we prefer to keep conversations on one talk page, so if someone comments on your talk, you can just reply on your own talk. Thanks. Heimstern Läufer 20:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Becoming a sysop

I saw that you mentioned becoming a sysop on JoeyDay's talk page. Please read this for information. I do want to emphasize that asking to be a sysop is not a good way to move toward becoming one, as it's frowned upon at this wiki. Hope you understand. Heimstern Läufer 20:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Talk pages

hi, it's generally bad practice to remove stuff from talk pages. If you want to say something, just create a new section at the BOTTOM of the page, okay? Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 01:06, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Or, better yet, click on the little plus [ + ] at the top of the screen and it will automatically start a new section for you. — It's dot com 01:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
On a related note, please do not add or delete any words from another user's talk post, such as here. This even applies to spelling errors. Let others' talk posts stand. You might benefit from reading the talk guidelines. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:59, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
It's traditional to keep talk threads all in one place. If someone comments here, just reply here, they'll see the message, don't worry. — Defender1031*Talk 01:32, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Using Show Preview

Hello Wichesbrew82, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, — Defender1031*Talk 01:27, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

thanks for telling me that, anyways i think that a page that is so frivolous as place should be deleted or merged unless it is mentioned again.--Wichesbrew82 01:29, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
That's fine, i didn't comment on that. — Defender1031*Talk 01:31, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Seriously, please use it. — Defender1031*Talk 01:49, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Using Show Preview really is a good habit to get into. I highly recommend it. And those that monitor recent changes would very much appreciate it. OptimisticFool 06:35, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I have set, in "my preferences" (top of the page) to have the wiki alert me when I do not use an edit summary. I recommend this setting, it helps you be a more cooperative editor. Just a tip. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:53, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Editing other users' userpages

Hey there, Wichesbrew82. Please don't edit other users' user pages. I have reverted your edits to OptimisticFool's user page. If you want to talk to him, please use his talk page. Thanks, Loafing 23:07, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

You state on your user page that you intend to "tag" user pages. As Loafing said above, that's not acceptable editing. You might consider removing that text so no one wonders if you plan to do that still. Thanks! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 16:38, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

User:Wichesbrew82/tag a brew foundation

Hello again. Your subpage User:Wichesbrew82/tag a brew foundation does not conform to our user space policy. If you want to keep the contents, please copy it to your user page. Then, please tag the page with {{delete}} so we can delete it. Thanks for understanding. Loafing 23:13, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

sbemail9

We usually like to see some level of proof before claims like "i sent the sbemail i love you" can be made. So, you sent that email before January 14, 2001? Any way you can prove you sent that email? OptimisticFool 02:13, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

But if you did, that's real awesome, Mr. fhqwhgadshgnsdhjsdbkhsdabkfabkveybvf. Homestar-Winner (talk) 02:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to believe you, but I don't know, Mr. I claim that I'm fhqwhgadshgnsdhjsdbkhsdabkfabkveybvf. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 13:31, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

okay. lets look at the facts. i am twelve now so i was four then. so i hardly knew how to type. and didnt know how to type my name. so i typed gibberish. plus what would i gain if i were to lie? nothing.--Wicheybrew 15:28, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

That's not what I'd call proof. Any 12-year-old could say that. I'm not saying YOU aren't the author, you just need better proof. —NFITC1talk 15:55, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
WitchesBrew, why did you remove my post? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 16:25, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
BTW, you would have been at least 5 or 6, not 4, so you would have developed your typing skills. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 16:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Folks, this is a discussion that has taken place numerous times on the wiki. One consensus that has been reached is that authorship of emails should not be noted on the email article. Some of us even falsified evidence (screenshots of the email, for example) to demonstrate how it's next to impossible to prove authorship. The only real proof would be evidence accessible to others which is time-stamped in such a way it could not have been falsified, such as a blog posting or appearance on one's user page here prior to the email's release.

Users can state that they have authored an email on their user page, but other users have the opportunity to disbelieve if they want. This sort of bickering isn't particularly useful to the knowledge base. Take it to IRC or someplace else, please. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 16:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Sig Images

The images in your sig are just slightly too tall. Reducing them to 17px in width or less will make it so they conform to the policy of 20px (max) in height. Please see Help:Signature#Images for more info. OptimisticFool 17:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Taged A Brew

Hello there. just dropping by to say something about Your "Tag A Brew Foundation". First, it's gone, and cannot be revived. Second, please stop editing people's userpages and saying they got tagged, because you don't want to edit their pages and second they never agreed. If they agreed, you ask them to put it there. Just a reminder, and goodbye. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 23:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey, WB82. Just a clarification: Your Tag A Brew Foundation is of course not gone, and you can do with it what you want. On the other hand, editing someone else's user page is out of the question. As you have already been told, if you want to "tag" users, you have to do this on their talk page. Please don't edit someone else's user page again. Loafing 00:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
This edit leaves me wondering if you understand what we are saying. You say tagging is when you put that userbox on someone else's userpage, but what we are telling you is that you are not allowed to add that userbox to anyone else's userpage (or to casually edit anyone else's userpage in any other way). Also, please note that even "tagging" people repeatedly on their talk pages may be viewed as spam. Just making this clear to you. Heimstern Läufer 04:06, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Personal Images

Hey there, Wichesbrew82. Please have a look at our personal images policy. You can only upload two personal images and one for your signature. Please decide which images you don't need and put {{delete}} in their description so that we can delete them. Thanks for understanding. Loafing 03:01, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Ooops, nevermind, you're still within your limits. My mistake. Loafing 03:04, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hate List

Hey Brewy Witch. Just dropped by to say I removed your "users who suck" list. A vandal is fine, we know that they do suck. But saying our dear friend Loafing sucks when he's trying to help is mean, even if he does act like his mom (The wiki is like his part-family). I removed it because it's against the rules (correct me if I'm wrong). Have a good week, and have some fun! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 23:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

My Userpage

So, my userpage came up first when you googled Homestar Runner or whatever? So my userpage was the first thing on this wiki you ever saw? That's awesome! Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:39, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Tagging, and why it's wrong

hello. "tagging" is when the user user:Wichesbrew82 (me) puts the userbox at the bottom of this page on your user page. aftter that, you have to post a new section on their page, and tell us five things about themselves that we didnt know before.
Your user page

Wichesbrew82, several of us have mentioned this, and you have remained silent. Please read the userpage policy regarding editing others' user pages - it is all but forbidden, and certainly adding "tags" to user's pages is not within the allowable conditions to merit editing another user's page. Adding such a "tag" to one's user talk is probably OK if it is not overdone or abused, but the userpage is pretty clearly off-limits.

Your userpage still says, as I have quoted above, that you intend to do this. I strongly reccomend you either remove this or reword it to make it clear you do not intend to edit other user's userpages, as you are, in essence, stating your intention to violate our policies. If you do not, each user who reads your user page is in their rights to believe you don't care about our policies and guidelines, and that, frankly, is not going to frame you in the best light in the minds of other users.

Our userpages represent ourselves. Take a moment to consider what your userpage says about you, and if it's what you want it to say. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:26, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

sorry. ill not do it.--Wicheybrew 01:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
