Deletion

I don't see how these occurances are notable. "Best/worst X ever" is a common phrase. There is nothing special or funny about "best Decemberween ever", for example. The article should be deletedLoafing 00:06, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Not if those other two articles are merged. Otherwise, get rid of it, pronto. --Sysrq868 00:20, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Loafing's argument. Furthermore, the notion of this article as a running gag seems problematic to me. Running gags are incidents that derive their humor or interest from repetition in contexts where they can be identified with one another. I'm not seeing this here, as there's nothing that seems to relate all these appearances to each other. At this point, I would support deletion. Heimstern Läufer 00:21, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I read the entire article, and I must agree that this "gag" is very plain and unconnected. Delete. Bad Bad Guy 14:34, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Could someone go add some links to this article? I'd do it myself but I don't want the author to bear a grudge against me. Bad Bad Guy 13:13, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Fine, I'll add 4 links myself. Bad Bad Guy 19:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Is the author aware of the unanimous concensus? Bad Bad Guy 14:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't see how it matters whether or not I am aware of the consensus. What difference does it make? OptimisticFool 16:58, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I just wanted to know if you had anything to say about the article's worth. Bad Bad Guy 02:35, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

All right, I guess I do have an opinion. TBC's characters have a habit of exaggerating things as "the best" and "the worst" a lot! And there's so much emphasis on these phrases as they're being said, it really does seem to be something notable/deserving of a page. And each new appearance reminds me of the last. So, how do I feel about this article? It's the best article ever. OptimisticFool 16:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

What do you consider emphasis? Out of the references in the "Best" section alone, I only found 3 prominent instances (Best Decemberween, Stinkoman, Cheat Theme Song). The others were too easy to miss in my opinion. Bad Bad Guy 21:20, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I will admit that all the "Worst X Ever" references were pretty prominent. Bad Bad Guy 19:11, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Could everybody who wants to merge other articles into this explain why you want to keep it? Bad Bad Guy 18:20, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, this discussion has been open for over a month now, and if we include Awexome and The Chort for "keep" since they wanted to merge other articles into here, we have 3 or 4 for delete (my opinion has weakened over time) and 3 for keep. Should this be the final total? Bad Bad Guy 02:37, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

I love this page. It's fun. Delete. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:43, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I just realized something: the only reason any of these would be considered notable is the emphasis Matt Chapman gave while reading them. Even though he placed some emphasis on the "not running out of ink" thing, that line is banned from Not X. If the emphasis the actor gives does not make a gag notable, my opinion changes back to a full delete. Bad Bad Guy 03:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Big question before the final decision: Should we still count Awexome's and The Chort's "merge into here" messages even though they never explained why this article should stay? Bad Bad Guy 00:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Delete--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 00:45, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I personally do not want to count Awexome and The Chort since they never praised this article, but some people might find that decision too biased. Bad Bad Guy 16:21, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
It feels like time to close it now. I counted 6 for "delete". Should we count 3 for keep or only 1? Bad Bad Guy 23:12, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
So you've decided that, despite the brand new appearance of this running gag in licensed, your opinion is still for delete? OptimisticFool 23:13, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Another instance doesn't change the fact that it's too plain and unconnected to be a gag. Bad Bad Guy 00:23, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Somebody close this already please. Bad Bad Guy 14:15, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I honestly think deleting this page would be a downgrade to the wiki. To me it's clear that there are enough related instances (think voice inflection, which does count) of this running gag to qualify it for a page. And while I don't consider that TBC were casting a vote to save the page by including a new instance in licensed, I do believe it added strength and value to this article. This junk is still my best articles ever. OptimisticFool 04:18, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

What makes these instances related? Bad Bad Guy 04:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Ahem, I repeat: voice inflection. OptimisticFool 04:22, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
I couldn't find much infliction in the Bug in Mouth, Welcome Back, best thing, licensed, or road trip quotes. Bad Bad Guy 04:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
