how about just "logos" or "signs" or "Flags"(not likely)

I think logos is the best, because some are just that, such as Videlectrix and pistols for pandas

The title "insignia" is definitely inappropriate, as these represent symbols of power. After looking at Wikipedia:Logo, the word Logo reflects Commericial use. This applies to probably less than half of the entries in this page. I think the more generic Symbol would be a more appropriate term to describe all entries, but I think renaming the page to Symbols and Logos would be the most fitting (the pages Symbols and Logos can then be redirected here). Delete

This page is getting ridiculous. It's all over the map. These aren't all insignias. And a rename wouldn't help; they aren't all slogans, they aren't all logos, they aren't all on shirts, they aren't all band names. Delete. OptimisticFool 02:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Insignias on Wikipedia say that they are "a token of power or ranking." Homestar's Star, and Coach Z's emblem aren't rankings or medals. I think we should keep this page, but it needs a better name, because they're not really insignias. TheCoolBot 12:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

That's only one definition. Wikipedia's article deals with that only. According to m-w.com, it can also mean "a distinguishing mark or sign" which this page definitely deals with. So keep and retain name. - Qermaq - (^T/C)  18:45, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you explain why you think it's pointless? I'm leaning towards keep myself, but if it's going to stay, it needs some major cleanup. Some of the things listed (Marshie, Bubs' Concession Stand sign) aren't insignias, logos or anything. — Has Matt? (talk) 23:10, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

I can see some merit in this page, but as it stands, it seems pretty sloppy and disjointed. I don't think renaming it "Identifying Marks" would really work, either. This list is essentially a mishmesh of logos/words on shirts, signs, and mascots, and there doesn't seem to be much of an overall connection between them all... -YK 01:17, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Delete. All of these things can be adequately mentioned--which is to say, mentioned at all--on the respective pages of all these characters. This page serves no purpose. If someone wants to look up something about one of the characters and what sort of sign they have on them, they're going to go to their page, not to this one.--Big Dog 06:40, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Keep. The information has been organized a bit better now that it is in table format and has samples of the symbols/logos in question. With this page now having a better and more appropriate title, as well as a nice-looking table as opposed to a clumsy-looking list, we have a winner. Could use a few better images, though, showing just symbols rather than the entire characters, but beyond that, it's good. Keep -YK 22:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Format

I don't really like the format of the page currently, i.e. the X has Y for all of them. It doesn't flow well. Maybe a table format? Like, columns for symbol, character, and (maybe) description, or picture? Something like that... That is, if this page isn't gonna be deleted. -DAGRON 12:38, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

The list is now in table format, similar to that of Fonts. It should looks better now and less deletion-y. Some of the image samples could be blown up and re-uploaded.
