Sometimes in the Strong Bad emails, Strong Bad mixes up what he is asked or told, and will do something either lightly suggested and make the whole email about it, or will mix up facts in the email. This is mostly seen in the Tandy 400 emails, but it is also in the other two eras. Unusually, some of the mixed up emails actually create major parts of the Homestar Runner universe.
Tandy 400 Twisted Emails
- Email some kinda robot — Abdi asks Strong Bad, "do you take your mask and gloves off before you go to bed", but he instead makes the email about robots and his being the "greatest criminal mind of our time."
- In homsar, Vinnie C. suggests Strong Bad should kill Homestar because of his hatred towards him. Vinnie C. though spells Homestar as Homsar, and he then ends up dropping a heavy lourde on Homsar, and leaves behind killing Homestar. (Though it might have been intentional so that Homestar wouldn't die)
- In the email i love you, Strong Bad mentions nothing about anything in the email besides his/her name.

After he plays along with it, he yells at her saying he gets a lot of emails like that and from "ladies with proper grammar" but then feels sorry for her. Thinking that he shouldn't let the email go to waste, he sends it to "The Cheat", later they text each other on an I.M.
- In "studying", he "advises" Roy to stop studying and spend time with his girlfriend. He later tries to steal his girlfriend, but he says that doesn't know her name or where she lives.
- In stand-up, Joe p. wants him to do stand-up comedy. He repeatedly states "no", trying to avoid telling about an embarrassing thing that had happened to him before. "Strong Sad" comes in shortly after to show a tape of Lil' Strong Bad doing stand-up, somehow ending up in his pants falling for no real reason.
- In the email CGNU, Strong Bad, instead of telling how to graduate at CGNU, he ends up making an advertisement for it. Also revealing that CGNU is not a real college an applying for it is just to make fun of you.
- In the email 1 step ahead, one of the choices is to TAKE THINGS IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION.
- In the email superhero name Strong Bad, instead of answering stiny's question, he makes fun of his name and inserts him as a character in a Strong Badman issue

- In gimmicks Strong Bad seems to only repeat what he is saying several times, then his computer explodes with no explanation.
