Hi, back atcha!- 2nd poster
PNG vs.JPG
Hey there. I noticed you've been uploading a lot of great images. I only have one problem, and that is that you are saving the images as .JPG files instead of .PNG files. I know we really haven't come up with an image policy yet, but pretty much everything that is a screenshot should be saved as a .PNG. They are meant for the web, have a great compression rate, and generally just look better. The Windows XP version of MSPaint even supports saving to .PNG, as do all other quality image editors like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks. -- Tom 19:11, 20 Sep 2004 (MST)
Bird.
ThunderBird and FireBird. We should, like, join forces and stop crime all over New York City. We could be like "The Birds!" "Look, here come The Birds to save the day!" And I could be all, like, Neeoooww! Boom! Boom! Boom! "I fought them with my fire!" And you could be all Neeoowww! Ker-poussh! Ker-poussh! "I fought them with my thunder!" And then we'd fly away and leave the city at peace for another day.-- FireBird
Floppy Disk Screenshots
Hey there, Thunderbird. I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of uploading about half a dozen screenshots (from the sb email 65-75 era). I find it's a great cure for boredom, and I made sure to use very similar image size/ratios to yours (I monitored pixel size and cropped where necessary). I also made use of your pre-existing file names, so there was no need to even edit the article! I hope you enjoy my contribution, but if instead you would prefer to upload them, I'll "cease and desist"... just thought I'd help out the almighty king of screenshots! --Teh P. 02:29, 8 Oct 2004 (MST)
- Great job cleaning up the Floppy Disk Container Plus article T-Bird. I like it much. The page still needs a category, as all articles do. I think "inside jokes" would be appropriate. -Drhaggis 12:17, 1 Nov 2004 (MST)
Odell Lake
Got an Apple//e emulator working and found the dang rom. Got screenshots (or the emu itself, if you want). Completed the description and year. Sorry it took me so long :) --Southpaw018 19:59, 24 Oct 2004 (MST)
Length vs Width
T-Bird. I noticed you reverted my edits on Toilets. I'll explain why I made the table longer than wide. With my screen resolution, the last entry is pushed off the page as it was shown in the following picture, until Thunderbird deleted it because it was cluttering the talk page with a big picture.
I hope you understand why I fix these tables. -Drhaggis 12:45, 31 Oct 2004 (MST)

Re: note for Tom to enlarge virus Floppy image
I did resize the image. Hit ctrl+F5 to refresh. The image is Image:Floppy_virus.png. And I guess you didn't like the NPOV-type explanation for the game I put there? -- Tom 11:18, 15 Nov 2004 (MST)
Quote Of Week Box Design
Wow...I'm impressed yet again with 'The King of Screenshots.' You get a pizza trophy for 'image appropriateness' on the Quote of the Week article. I'm glad someone finally noticed what I was attempting to say when I provided those links to pictures/flash file of the new design. Your decision to make a thumbnailed screenshot was the best way to illustrate the current situation regarding the newest quote(s). I'm still not sure what to make of Homestar's appearance on a quote by obviously uttered by Strong Bad. What do you think is the reason behind this?
At present, I'm trying to figure out the best way I can state "Because of TBC's newly-implemented "Quote of the 'Whenever'" design, any attempts to open the file after you have saved "qod.swf" will be futile as the quote will not pop up from the screen like it normally used to with any quote file prior to the 'I doh du duoh crapfully yours' one. This may be due to changes in flash code/programming that now link directly to MPEG Layer 3 file(s) as opposed to a 'hot-wired' .WAV file and a link to a ZIP archive." Sheesh! I'm trying to consolidate all of the following reasoning into one grammical sentence, but it's difficult! --The Paper 05:42, 24 Nov 2004 (MST)
Good jorb.
Good jorb on all these projects you've been working on. Good prize. → FireBird
Catagorization
I've been trying to move the categorization away from the Reject/Inside Joke/Full fledged thing structure for a while now. I don’t think the number of times something is mentioned should be a factor in this resource. Having said that, I'm still not quite sure where to put pages like the Halloween Costumes, and Floppy Disk Container. They are Lists for sure, but they go deeper than that. Those pages, along with the SBEmail by name/location are more like database reports rather than core articles. All the info on them is somewhere else on the site, but it has been reformatted into a kind of database query response.
We could make a Halloween category, to put in toons, Pumpkin Stencils and the costume list.

Response to your 'Quote Of The Week' Query
To answer your question regarding the Quote of the "Whenever", there is a way to view the flash file in fullscreen and you might have good luck viewing it here: qod.swf. You should know that if you attempt to store this file locally (i.e., on a hard drive) and then subsequently open it in your browser, this will cause the file to produce that image of homestar saying that phrase about the funniest word style...You know-- the one that appears on that nice graphic you made to show the difference between the old and the new style. Hope this helps! --The Paper 23:36, 30 Dec 2004 (MST)
Special Task
T-Bird! I added the costumes I knew to the Sketchbook article. I confirmed my findings with the Old Forum and they agree with mine. They say that the full body Marzipan is Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" but I dont think the hair and bandana are right for her. - Dr Haggis - Talk 02:51, 2 Jan 2005 (MST)
Long Page Reduction
The only way I can see of reducing the length of the Floppy Disk Container Plus article is to vastly reduce the description of the game down to a one liner each. That’s a tough one because of all the work everyone has done on it. The external links will have to carry the weight of the info. I don't see a way to split the list in any non-arbitrary fashion.
As for the Halloween costumes, the descriptions are really good, and I don’t think they should be cut shorter. A guide should be "no longer than the picture," and for the most part they meet that. I would prefer to see the article split by Character, rather than toon, but that’s me. - Dr Haggis - Talk 18:07, 6 Jan 2005 (MST)
Good point about the Halloween Costumes, sorting by Toon is preferable. The Disks page can be shrunk, but it will only get longer with time. It's a puzzler. - Dr Haggis - Talk 18:49, 6 Jan 2005 (MST)

Your screen shots (from DVD) request
Hi, King of Screenshots! I hate to bug you like this- I just wanted to know if you had seen my post in the thread you started when you requested several screen shots. You said you wanted them to be at least 150 by 150 pixels - I did the best I could. I attempted to zoom in but I wasn't able to obtain clear results so the images in my post are the best I could do. While I'm at it, do you have any guesses for what game "WOTR Level 2" might refer to? How about "one tune"? And for the one that gets cut off, do you know any vintage games that have a title two words in length where the first word starts with 'k' and the second begins with 'spe'? *shrug* I haven't the slightest... --The Paper 11:24, 9 Mar 2005 (MST)
