Heavy Lourde

The Heavy Lourde is an extremely large weight that drops on various characters. The most frequent victim of this weight is Homsar. In French, "lourde" means "heavy", making the name redundant.
This gag is perhaps spoofing Monty Python's Flying Circus, which had a similar running gag with a weight that said "16 TONS" on it.
The bilingual labeling on the weight may refer to the multi-lingual labeling of items required in Canada and becoming more prevalent in the United States since the advent of NAFTA. Labeling like this also occurs on Air France flights between the U.S. and France. When a bag is over a certain weight, a label is added to the bag saying "Heavy Lourde" on two lines in the same way it appears on the large weight.
In the FAQ, a similar weight (labeled "1 TON") appears in the activity on the last page. Also, in Teen Girl Squad Issue 4, What's Her Face is squashed by a similar weight reading "NO Pounds".

- Email stunt double — Strong Sad gets "what [he] like[s] to call a broken neck", as a stunt double for Strong Bad, who is playing Dangeresque.
- Email garage sale — The Heavy Lourde is for sale at Strong Bad's garage sale, for $2, referencing email #2, where it first appeared.
- Although it is not certain, Homsar thanks Marzipan for visiting him at the hospital in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 5.0 presumably because of the Heavy Lourde squishing him.
