I feel so bad for the Cheat!

Ok, this may be minor, but it almost sounds like Homestar is saying "Four miles For hours" or "four miles four hours" instead of "Four miles per hour" Am I the only one? --Stux 08:19, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Yes.
Yeah, I went back and listened to it, and he *does* say "per hour" but his p is a little "ph"-afied. Incredible. --Stux 20:25, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

The Paper Filmography

Is the The Paper's first appearance outside of a Strong Bad email? -- tomstiff 14:02, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

No. - Joshua

And also Arcade Game - sarducci

For that matter, is this the first appearance of an actual e-mail (well, it seems like a legitimate e-mail) outside of an official numbered sbemail segment?

sick lappy

the reason you dotn get ripples when you click the lappy is because it is sick with a virus too!!!

No, if TBC wanted to make the Lappy sick, it would have been more obvious. - Joshua 17:02, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Sick as well

What a coincidence!!!! I stayed home from school today because I was sick. It's amazing how life works out. lol--Martin925 18:23, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Heheh, me too. Homestramy20|Talk 20:11, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Holy crap! Me, too!

Yeah I've been doing my best not to get sick either. It's been going around! It's a fitting reflection of reality that TBC made through this short today. --Stux 20:28, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Weird... I've been a little snuffly too. Maybe TBC is just psychic and predicted we'd ALL be sick as dogs today. Ookelaylay 22:46, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, even I was a little sick over the weekend. -FaceCrap 23:59, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Well i'm not sick, but when I was coming home from school, I had a stuffy nose. -Dachazman

Or (eerie music) maybe TBC made us sick today! --notstrongorbad 02:17, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Or maybe because TBC have about 50,000+ viewers, a bunch of them were bound to be sick during the time of this toon's release. ;) - Joshua 02:23, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I wasn't sick but my freind but they haven't heard of Homestar Runner! So it isn't a big coincedence there is something going round so maybe thats why they made this short -- Strong Lad

Grayest or Greatest?

"STRONG SAD: {groans} This is the ______ day of my life. I feel like a few dollars."

Alright, this has been changed multiple times now. Is he saying "grayest" or "greatest?" - Camalex(talk) 18:34, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • Greatest. Not only is that I hear it as, but "grayest" doesn't make sense in context. (regarding the dollar sentence) - Joshua 18:48, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest. I definitely hear a consonant in there. It's a little muffled because of his illness. The joke is that for a depressing person, being sick means he's actually having a good day. The second line is a play on "I feel like a million dollars," which only a person having the greatest day of their life would say. The grayest day of Strong Sad's life is every other day. — It's dot com 18:50, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • Second. -- tomstiff 19:27, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest. For exactly the reasons It's dot com gave. --DorianGray
    • That's what I thought. Then I came here and it said "grayest" so I was confused. It kept getting changed, so I just wanted to see what people said on it... - Camalex(talk) 18:52, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest. For all the reasons already stated. --Jay (Talk) 19:39, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest. See above, and earlier someone put greenest, so I went back to hear it carefully, and indeed heard him pronounce the consontant! --Stux 20:29, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Grayest. - when someone has the greatest day of their life, they feel like a million dollars. When someone has the grayest day, they only feel like a few dollars. Makes perfect sense.
    • I know this isn't STUFF, but sign your votes. --Jay (Talk) 03:44, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest Strong Sad never has a good day, ever. It makes sense for him to think the greatest day of his life to be worth a couple bucks. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 21:45, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greenest! Seriously! That's what I thought when he said it. Why else would he say like he felt like some dollar bills? Also, his face looked green. Ju Ju Master
  • Greatest The joke is that Strong Sad's day is better when he (or Strong Bad?) has a disease than normally. -AtionSong 23:36, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest Exactly!!!!!!!!!(I also agree with the "Or Strong Bad?" thing) 20X6 GEM
  • Greediest. To me, Strong Sad is saying "greediest." How about any of you? GWR_Wikisig.gifGWR 2004 TalkContribs 01:53, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • Comment Greediest? "This is the greediest day of my life."?! That makes no sense, and I hear greatest. I think the conclusion is obvious now. - Joshua
  • Greatest Not because it necessarily makes sense in context or in character or anything like that, but just because that's what it sounds like. Actually it sounds more like "Greadest" but anyone who's had a blocked nose knows that 't's are hard to pronounce and often come out as 'd's. --phlip TC 03:28, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Greatest Indeed, it is 'greatest.' The "t" is partially swallowed, (or, to take the "hooked on phonetics" route, his pronunciation has an incomplete plotive stop, muddying the sharpness of the "t"), but it is there. THE SMOKING MONKEY 12:04, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

What is it then?

Should this be classified as a Not-Quite-Strong-Bad-Email or should we just leave it as-is? User:Kiwi

It's already on the NQSBE list, so there you go. --DorianGray

This morning I was going to add it to the list, and when I got there someone had already done it! I really do like this wiki. — It's dot com 21:49, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Laugh or Cry

This may just be me but it sounds more like The Cheat is laughing mischievously while in the puke pail. Does anyone else think so or do I need my ears checked? Stinkoman Z

You need your ears checked. - Camalex(talk) 23:38, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

YEah. It also sounds like he might be doing a small bit O' pokun at the end part of his puke pail appearence. 20X6 GEM

Puke pail

So, why didn't the puke pail get brought to Strong Bad? --The 386 00:10, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Whoever was told to do so (The Cheat) was busy up-chucking. GWR_Wikisig.gifGWR 2004 TalkContribs 00:14, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Up-chucking?! More like, puking really loudly! I don't get it at all. --The 386 00:18, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Um, up-chucking=puking - Camalex(talk) 00:19, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

How so? I think you're right. --The 386 00:23, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

They're synonyms. Also barf, throw up, spew, vomit, ralph, blow chunks, toss your cookies, toss a sidewalk pizza, Technicolour yawn, tango with the toilet, spiff your biscuits, regurgitate... Yeah... I collect synonyms for that. Call me crazy (I collect synonyms for 'crazy' too). --DorianGray

Okay, I know already! --The 386 00:29, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I'm not sure if The Cheat was up-chucking or that he got stuck in Strong Bad's puke pail somehow. DaChazman

He was sick. Everyone was sick. He wasn't just "stuck." - Joshua 00:40, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Can't you see that we are all quite worried? The Cheat was in there, using it when he was sick! --The 386 00:41, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I thought he was just stuck in the pail and was miserable. It sounded like he was crying. - Ju Ju Master 00:51, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I think you're right. But "Can't you see Grandma's watchin' her stories"?! --The 386 00:52, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

puke pail for him!

i think the label on the box is a reference to j.c. penny comercials where they say phrases like:"hats for her! and jeans for him!" i couldnt think of a better example....-User:Timmy!

Um, no. I think you're looking too hard. - Camalex(talk) 01:10, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
i dont think i am! its extremely similar right? dont you think? i thought this would be exepted!-User:Timmy!
Uh, no. It's more of a "It's his puke pail, not SB's. HE'S FREAKIN' SICK!" comment TBC put in there. --Ookelaylay 01:14, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
THAT'S IT! We've managed to get this far! :D No one can believe this. --The 386 01:15, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I don't see how it would be "J.C Penny's" speficially, as a lot of stores/brands use that. It's too broad to even mention. - Camalex(talk)
Well, just take note of this... there can also be a barf bag. --The 386 01:19, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
fine it can be a reference to alot of stores okay? jeez...-User:Timmy!
hello????????anyone their?-User:Timmy!
If it's a referense to a bunch of stuff then it's not really noteable, as everyone would know it already. It's too broad to make a comment about it. Think about it, you wouldn't put "Strong Bad's gloves are red. This is a referense to other things that are red" would you?
He's right about the glove reference. It's spelled wrong and will never make it on the Wiki due to that, but this store thing was something I hadn't thought of... When I did, though, I also thought of those blue and pink towels that say for her and for him, so there's a lot of stuff out there. We really can't stuff the site. People won't let me do it, either. I feel sorry for you, Timmy. We have an idea and they get rid of it. I'm off to check if paint pen still is up... Mortacai 18:01, 4 Oct 2005
...and Camalex, why is it whenever I see a reference that is being shot down by only one person, it's you? Sir, you love the status quo too much. This is the internet. The internet changes.

i feel like a few dollars.

does anyone else view this as sounding a lot like somethig homsar would say? expecially with strong sad's tone of voice? it might be just a coincidence, though. ik.cybi?

See It's dot com's first comment in the great/gray/green/greasy debate above. Excellently put.

Rotten Egglund

I believe that the map of rotten egglund could be a reference/spoof of the map to far off lands

It's a reference to Peasant's Quest. The 386 My talk

I don't think so, compare: Map from Sick Day Map from Yello Dello Map from Peasant's Quest - it's closer to the Yello Dello one, I think. --phlip TC 13:00, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
The shape looks like the Yellow Dellow but the drawings are a spoof on the Peasants Quest.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 13:03, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought it was a reference too. (to the Yello Dello one) - Joshua 13:03, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I never thought of that. The 386 My talk

Hey question: How many of these maps are out there? Just those three? Are they grouped together in some fashion (via a category or an article)? --Stux 16:59, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Is this necessary?

Is this, under "Remarks", necessary?

 - The images of Homestar's "word problem" are actually in front of Homestar.

I'm just asking. Is it relevant enough?

CJSF

Well, if you watch carefully, the thermometer passes behind the drawings at one point. I think that's what it means. It seems interesting enough to me... --DorianGray
It's not something you'd notice unless you really looked for it. But the thermometer goes go behind it and also, when it pops, the "explosion" goes in front of Homestar. I think it's interesting to note because you'd assume it was on the wall behind him. - Joshua 18:03, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
How is this interesting? I've always assumed they were floating in front of him, like the on-screen graphics in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. They're appearing out of nowhere... why would they be on the wall? — It's dot com 18:12, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Unnecessary. He's showing US the visuals, why would they be on the wall?- Camalex(talk) 18:15, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
