References

Will we ever add the fact that they referenced the most famous things during the 90s, early 2000s, and the late 2000s? — 67.243.54.46 (Talk | contribs) 20:00, 1 April 2016 (left unsigned)

Humidibot's Girlfriend

Humidibot has a bit of a lisp, so it's not that easy to tell exactly what he said (and same goes for his girlfriend). Do you hear Humidibess or Humidibeth? Personally I thought it was Humidibeth the whole time. Before I change the name or add a footnote, let's gauge the room. -- ■■   PURPLE  WRENCH   ■■ 03:42, 2 April 2016 (UTC) because that's what a humidifier does.

I decided to listen to it again and it definitivinitiley sounds more like Humidibeth than Humidibess. I vote for Humidibeth. - Catjaz63 03:52, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Beth for certain. I bet she looks like a dude, too. --DorianGray 06:17, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Seven-Inch Stretch?

Could the Sloshy and Larry Palaroncini messages about a split seven-inch be a reference to The King of Town and The Cheat cutting demos on the machine in 13.2? 108.17.131.71 06:14, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

I doubt it. Split seven-inches have been referenced in H*R numerous times before. That's sort of a stretch. Lira (talk) 14:04, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

How you guys found it?

Hey, something's been bugging me since yesterday morning. How did you guys find Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2? I got up at 6:00 AM on April 1st and looked at the official site, and as far as I could see, the new toon wasn't linked to anywhere. The only way I could access it was to come to this wiki. I only just saw that it was added to the New Stuff menu today. Like right just now! So, how you diddat? Lira (talk) 14:25, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Sounds like a typical problem with Flash cashche. I think clearing your browser cache is a good idea, though I'm not particularly an expert. - Catjaz63 14:28, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
I cannot help myself clear my browser cache. I don't really even know what that means. Anyway, it appears on the New Stuff menu now. So it was all the time working for you guys? Huh. Let me ask: for you, are the main pages updated? For me, it still says "LAST UPDATED 11-10-15". I thought The Brothers Chaps just haven't updated the date yet, but maybe not...? Lira (talk) 14:43, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
It says last updated 04-01-16 for me on the main menu.
Which brings me to one question, monstrosity.
Do you know the times? - Catjaz63 14:45, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Guess it's only me, then. Weird. Like I said, MAM 17.2 showed up for me fairly recently in the Toons menu, but nowhere else... it still says 11-10-15, and the new stuff button underneath it doesn't say anything about an April Fools' toon. I don't know anything about Flash caches, but I guess I'll assume you're right. Lira (talk) 18:56, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Ah, that's mildly interesting. I just got on the site with my much faster Windows 10 computer, and from there it looks like the site's been updated just fine. This is my school-issued laptop, and it runs Windows 8... not sure if that has something to do with it. Lira (talk) 19:09, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Isn't this type of thing supposed to be on some other page relating to Marzipan's Answering Machine? - 50.149.242.19
The "67 different callers" part might be worth adding somewhere, but the stats breakdown is probably better done on the main answering machine page. --DorianGray 17:14, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Actually, it has already been done on that page, and this info isn't on the actual toon pages, so nah. - 50.149.242.19

So...

How long do you think this surge of life will last? - 50.149.242.19

The Brothers Chaps aren't nearly as active on Homestar Runner dot com as they's used to be. But nowadays, you can usually count on them to do an April Fools toon and a Halloween toon per year. They might occasionally do some small stuff in between, but I would count on their next update being at Halloween (although hopefully I'm wrong). This "surge of life" isn't particularly unusual. Lira (talk) 19:16, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Convenience

An anonny decided it was more convenient to add timestamps to this (very long and non-Flash) cartoon so we could see where to find each message. SRMX12 appears to disagree. What do others think? Because... I'm with anonny. We don't have to use the template on Answering Machine Callers page. (No, I don't think we should put timestamps on the other pages, since they have buttons to control which message you're listening to and they're not 39 minutes long.) --Jay (Gobble) 22:52, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
