A warning comes up on love poems that there s no FDC listed but none appears. Is there a way to allow some sort of flag to prevent the warning in cases where it's not needed, to prevent everyone from looking? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:00, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not a warning, just a notice saying it couldn't find a link but that not emails are in the list. The only way around it would be to actually maintain a list of emails that do not contain a floppy disk (an idea I have actually already considered as a possible solution to this). — It's dot com 04:53, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't understand what any of this means. Can someone clue me in? OptimisticFool 05:25, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Notices

I didn't know this existed. Way cool. I have an idea of how the notices could be avoided. To do it, we would list them on the relevant pages, but hear me out — they still wouldn't need to actually be visible on those pages. Take being mean and the floppy, for example. There is no floppy in this email, but we could still list it like other toons (except mostly empty) on Floppy Disk Container, like so:

|-id="being mean" class="check-only"
| || [[being mean]] || No floppy in this toon ||

Note the class="check-only" on there.

Then (this part would need to be done by a system admin), in the CSS file for the site, there could be two definitions like so:

tr.check-only { display: none; }
.page-Special_Sbemailcheck tr.check-only { display: block; }

The end result is:

  1. no notices on this page — instead it shows the mostly empty row indicating that the toon has in fact been checked but no floppy appears.
  2. no visible change (to the end user) in the existing articles listing these things.
  3. no need to have separate lists for emails that don't contain the floppy (or don't have an outro, etc.)
