The folks in Free Country, USA seem to enjoy playing, watching, and discussing Sports.

Badminton

• Where's The Cheat? — Strong Bad mentions the sport.
• Email labor day — Strong Mad and The Cheat are shown with badminton racquets.
• Email army — Strong Bad and Strong Mad discuss the sport and wonder what the official rules are.

Baseball

Waiting on Homestar to find his hat.

• Mark Lemke is a commonly referenced baseball player.
• Coach Z is usually seen wearing an unbranded baseball cap.
• Where My Hat Is At? — Homestar Runner looks for his hat so he can play baseball.
• Email keep cool — Strong Sad mentions that baseball games are at two, eleven, and three.
• Strongest Man in the World — The Grape Fairie claims he got the golbol in 1974 from Mookie Wilson. Mookie Wilson was a professional baseball player durring the 1980s and early 1990s best known for playing for the New York Mets, the team referenced in the golbol Easter egg.

Basketball

We all long for the days of the ABA

• Pom Pom, Too — one of the Poms is colored like an ABA basketball, and two of them look like NBA basketballs.
• A Decemberween Pageant — Pom Pom is cast as Kobe #1 and Strong Mad is cast as Kobe #2.
• Strong Bad Character Video — one of his accepted forms of payments is "Denver Nuggets."
• Email new hands — one of the options for Strong Bad's hands is an ABA basketball.
• New Boots — The Cheat draws Strong Bad dribbling and spinning basketballs.
• Email autobiography — Strong Bad supposedly played on a basketball team with "The Deke."
• Email different town — Strong Bad says "Pom Pom wouldn't change at all / 'cept he'd look like an ABA basketball."
• Email secret recipes — Coach Z doesn't appear to know what a basketball is, referring to one as "a bounce thing".
• Halloween Fairstival — Strong Mad dresses as Ben Wallace.
• Email bedtime story — Moses Malone is supposedly a buddy of The Cheat.
• Email candy product — Coach Z gets a basketball stuck on his head.

Competitive Swimming

• Email other days — Strong Sad mentions that they will be late for swim practice (although earlier in the e-mail Strong Bad denies that he goes to swim practice).

Football

• Coach Z's old timey counterpart is a football player named "Fort Wayne Locomotive."
• The House That Gave Sucky Treats — Strong Mad's costume is William "Refrigerator" Perry, a famous football player from the 1980s.
• Superbowl Dealie — The entire toon is about annual professional football championship.
• Email caffeine — Strong Sad claims while hyper, "I don't even watch football! I don't even watch football!"
• Email crying — Strong Bad "quotes" Li'l Brudder as saying "I'm gonna be a quarterback when I grow up. I'm gonna throw for 2,000 yards."
• Senorial Day — Senor Cardgage and Strong Bad "play catch" with a football.
• Email high school — "Middle School" Coach Z dreams of being "craptain of the foortball torm".
• KOT's VOQPCS! — The King of Town's scheme to get the Poopsmith to smell better somehow involves a game of football.
• Everything Else, Volume 3 — On the Holidays menu, one of the powerups The Cheat collects is a football.
• Toikey TV — Strong Mad, Strong Bad, and The Cheat wind up watching the 2007 Falling Asleep On The Couch Watching Football Bowl.
• Sloshybowl — Strong Sad watches sloshy on the Superbowl half-time show.

Soccer referred to as Football

• Email little questions — The sender asks "Has you some time play football?" and Strong Bad answers by saying that he loves football.
• The System Is Down — Strong Bad shouts "football!", a reference to a soccer song.

Golf

Is it golf?

• Email mascot — The Cheat uses a golf club to hit things on the CGNU Golf Club Team.
• Email the paper — The Paper has the word "golf" visible under its sweatshirt during its preppy phase.
• Email mini-golf — The entire email is concerned with the miniature version.

Hockey

• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2 — Homestar, pretending to be Coach Z, asks Marzipan why she missed field hockey practice.
• Superbowl Dealie — Homestar shows up in a Boston Bruins jersey.

Martial Arts

The Champeenship

• Theme Song Video — Pom Pom is seen practice martial arts.
• Email pom pom — Pom Pom manages to "beat the everloving snot" out of Strong Bad.
• Email montage — Homestar participates in the "Champeenship," which seems to be a judo/karate type tournament.
• Summer Short Shorts — Pom Pom is seen wielding a bo and performing impressive acrobatics in one of the segments.

Soccer

• Email little questions — Strong Bad mentions that he hates soccer.
• Email ghosts — Strong Bad tells the ghost of the Tandy "The Cheat has soccer practice."
• Email caffeine — Hyperactive Strong Sad asks Coach Z if he wants to play some soccer.
• Happy Hallow-day — Bubs is dressed as Coach McGuirk, the soccer coach in the television series Home Movies.
• Sloshybowl — sloshy say they played soccer in high school and Strong Sad is hit by a soccer ball at the end.

Tennis

• John McEnroe is a commonly referenced tennis player.
• Email flashback — Strong Bad and Coach Z play tennis on the moon.
• Senorial Day — Bubs holds a tennis racquet and has a John McEnroe wig on.
• Decemberween Short Shorts — Strong Bad admits he likes tennis player Martina Navratilova.
• Email the paper — During The Paper's preppy phase, it is seen wearing a sweater with the word "tennis".
