Do we want to update the image each time or leave the original New Toons menu as a historical archive? I'd prefer leaving the old one as the new content is in the page anyway. - Qermaq - (^T/C)  22:33, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok, we are using the same image for both Toons (where you were looking) and New Stuff (where I was). I think the old image should stay on New Stuff. This would mean copying the image and reverting one. Is that possible in the wiki, or would it have to be re-uploaded? - Qermaq - (^T/C)  22:39, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I think that language was uncalled for, TYD. I never expressed that it was in any way "killing me". Nor am I being stubborn. I am posting in Talk to discover what other users think about this specific question: Should the old version of this image be kept as a historical record on New Toons? I agree that the image used on Toons (and also TV Time Toons Menu) should be updated. I have the opinion that the original image should be preserved to be used on New Toons. If enough others agree with my opinion, then we might do that. If not, then I am totally happy living with the wiki's consensus. Whether we choose to upate the image on Toons every time the menu is updated or not, the best policy is not to upload the new image with the same file name as the old one. That way, the older images can still be used as normal, thumbnailed, etc. So, if it is decided to update the image every time the menu is updated, this image should be reverted to the original version, and the new version should be re-uploaded under a new filename (preferably with the date of the new menu's release in the filename).

I personally don't feel we need to update the image every time the menu is updated. We don't do this every time the Strong Bad Email menu is updated, or when the other menus on the main menu (Toons, Shorts, Holiday, Puppet Stuff, etc.) are updated. We should, perhaps, keep a record of which toons are on the New Stuff menu for each week. Trey56 23:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree with Trey. It's unnesseccary to update the image at all. We should revert to the first version. This image should only be updated if the style or layout changes, not if a new toon is added. Loafing 00:54, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I think I can explain those captions, too (or at least how I perceive them). The "Current Toons Menu" caption refers to the menu itself. It's more meaning "Current Toons Menu Features and Appearance" than "Current List of Toons". As for the "production update" one, that's just a reference to dangeresque 3 referring to how the menu had been updated. I didn't write either caption, but that's how I viewed them. It could also be that those captions were simply put there before the new stuff menu was updated, without the editor(s) thinking about what happens when new toons appear. And don't worry, you won't get banned for just voicing your opinion, TYD! Loafing 01:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

This is all very interesting, but to return to my original point: Toons and TV Time Toons Menu and New Stuff all use the same image. Could one of these maintain the original "New" image, or shall that be lost to the ignorance of time?
