Legendary film director Stanley Kubrick created many epic, controversial, and memorable motion pictures, which have left a lasting impression on modern pop culture. Like many others, the Brothers Chaps have occasionally made references to Kubrick's classic films.References
- A Jorb Well Done — Coach Z strapped into the chair in the theatre is a reference to the Ludovico technique in A Clockwork Orange.
- Email invisibility — The line "My mind is going. I can feel it." is a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- Email dangeresque 3 — Homestar Runner asks Strong Bad "What is your malfunction?", a famous line from Kubrick's Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket.
- Email narrator (DVD commentary) — Matt mentions A Clockwork Orange.
- Email cliffhangers — The left-hand "screen" picture in the cardboard spaceship and center "eye" when Space Captainface is on screen are from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- Strong Badia the Free — By using the alien in the second scene of Cave Girl Squad, a monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey appears, while Strong Bad hums the theme from the movie. Also, Homestar's line "What is my major malfunction?" is a reference to Full Metal Jacket.
- 8-Bit is Enough — The words "ALL WORK AND NO FRUIT MAKES GEL-ARSHIE A DULL BOY" that fill up the TV screen after beating the Gel-Arshie game with the kill screen is a reference to The Shining.
