I think [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] already mentioned this, but to sign your posts on talk pages and guestbooks (as I've seen you do once), just type 4 tildes, like this: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. That will make your signature and a timestamp appear, like this: {{User:Has Matt?/sig}} 22:33, 13 January 2006 (UTC). To make a signature, go to [[Help:Signature]]. Username

Hey there. Your name is too close to a main Homestar Runner character's name. (One leet letter and one uncapitalized initial doesn't make it different enough.) Is there another name you would like to use? Just post it here and I'll take care of it for you. — It's dot com 01:03, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Oh, sorry! I thought it was just that you couldn't have the actual name of a character. I need to think of something that won't be taken, so... could you give me a few minutes? Or else tell me an unused name that has to do with Strong Bad? He's my fave :) .

Sure. I'd offer some suggestions, but all the things that are popping in my brain right now are quite lame. Hmm... — It's dot com 01:28, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Well, you're doing better than me. Mine are much worse than "quite lame." Are main character nicknames OK to use? Or names of Strong Bad's computers?

I'm pretty sure that as long as it's not a main character, it's okay. Secondary characters and character variations are okay (for example, we have a "Sir Strong Bad" (the old-timey Strong Bad)). But you don't have to limit yourself to characters. Is there something interesting about your personality that could be a nickname? Or what (besides Strong Bad himself) is your favorite thing about H*R? To see why I chose my nickname, see my user page. — It's dot com 01:36, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

I did see it. I like that quote a lot, too, and I was trying to think of what my favorite quote would be, but the ones I can t hink of are probably already being used. Hmmm... I'm trying to think of something I could use off my own personality. I do some Flash animations sometimes, but I'm about as good at making them as The Cheat is at the moment, since I'm only learning. One thing about me is that I can never think of screen names or email names. Maybe I could be something like -insert title here-.

Okay, let's see... You like animating with Flash... You could be "Powered by" something. Like, if your name was Jeremy, you could be "Powered by Jeremy". I dunno, is that too long of a username? (I guess you could be "PBJ" for short.) — It's dot com 01:47, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

PBJ... I like that. Too bad my name is Katie. I like the sound of Powered by Katie though. Is that still too long? If it is, I might just go with Biscuit Hands.

"Powered by Katie" and "Biscuit Hands" are both cool. After thinking about it, I think the first one is not too long, and people could call you PBK for short if they wanted. Just let me know. — It's dot com 02:01, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Biscuit Hands is pretty cool, but I think I'll go with "Powered by Katie." Something about PBK that I just like for some reason. Thanks so much for helping me!

All right, Katie, you're all set. By the way, to sign you name on a talk page, just type four tildes, like this: ~~~~, and it will automatically put in your username and a timestamp, like this: It's dot com 02:31, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Now isn't that better, PBK? I think so. No offense to SB, but this is much cleverer. Plus, now nobody will be assuming you're a guy (something that happens way too often online). Congratulations, and welcome all over again! —AbdiViklas 02:56, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
I don't mean to stir things up again, but I had another brainstorm: "Powered by The Kate". I'd hate to put this issue to rest without at least having that option on the table. — It's dot com 03:05, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Whoa. Strongly seconded. Your call of course, Katie 80, but I think it's worth the trouble of a namechange. —AbdiViklas 05:01, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Oooohh... I do like that. All righty, then, let's go with that one. Powered by The Katie makes me sound so much cooler.
Agreed, very cool name. Welcome PBTK. I R F 14:53, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Okay, last question, I promise: "Powered by The Kate" or "Powered by The Katie"? The reason I ask is that Kate sounds a little more like Cheat, and I wasn't sure you'd noticed it in my post above. (I'm sure nobody's ever had this many people interested in their name before.) :) — It's dot com 15:31, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

It's like witnessing the birth of brand new baby username...so precious. I R F 17:07, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Plus "Kate" has such a grand Shakespearean heritage. It's pretty high on my list of cool female names. —AbdiViklas 17:39, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

All this attention is making me feel really cool...

Okay, I thought you just made a typo on the "Powered by the Kate" post, Dot com, but now that I think about it, I think I'll go with Powered by the Kate.
*whew* Okay, PbTK, now you're good to go. And, for the last time, welcome!! — It's dot com 22:06, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Signing

I think It's dot com already mentioned this, but to sign your posts on talk pages and guestbooks (as I've seen you do once), just type 4 tildes, like this: ~~~~. That will make your signature and a timestamp appear, like this: Has Matt? (talk) 22:33, 13 January 2006 (UTC). To make a signature, go to Help:Signature. Happy wikiing! Has Matt?
