[edit] Transcript

{Strong Bad and Homestar are seen standing around in a mysterious blue space. Strong Bad is looking around.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Strong Bad, could you give me a hand with this—

STRONG BAD: {interrupting, holding a hand up to silence Homestar} Wait a minute, shut up. Where the crap are we?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I dunno. Someplace.

STRONG BAD: What're we doing here? {looks behind him at the blue background} It's like we're in Blue Fadey Land or something. {faces Homestar}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Uhhhm... maybe this is heaven! {cheerful} We're dead!

STRONG BAD: No, it can't be heaven. There's not enough Twinkies.

{Homestar looks to his left, and produces a Twinkie from offscreen.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Here's a Twinkie.

STRONG BAD: Oh. {looks to his right} Maybe this is heaven!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, and it's just you and me, forever!

{Strong Bad slowly turns his head toward the camera as Homestar says this. As Strong Bad speaks, the background fades into a red gradient.}

STRONG BAD: Wait a minute... this isn't heaven!!!

{Strong Bad flies to the left side of the screen and starts pounding on it, screaming.}

STRONG BAD: WAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGHH!!!!!!!

{Strong Bad slides down off the bottom of the screen.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: No, you're right. I think it's Massachusetts.

{Homestar smiles.}

[edit] Easter Eggs

  • Click on Homestar's twinkie at the end to see Homestar use it as a telephone.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: {imitating telephone} Brinnng! Brinnng!
{Homestar holds the Twinkie up to his ear.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hello? Senator Pencilface. Yes, this is Homestar. Yes sir, I can save the day!
{He puts the Twinkie down in midair with a telephone click noise. Then he looks to his left and lifts his leg up as if to run off, then stops, puts his leg down and looks around.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Um... I really don't think there's a way out of here.

[edit] Explanations

  • This cartoon could be found in the program Macromedia Central by going into "Help → About Central" and Ctrl-doubleclicking on the "C" logo (On Mac go into "Central → About Central" and double CMD Clicking on the C logo). When given a password field, one would type in "sbemail" and press enter. The cartoon would then play in the "about" box.

[edit] Trivia

  • The blue and red "fadey" backgrounds are color fill techniques known as gradients, where the color fades along the fill area.
  • In the Quote of the Week, Strong Bad is incorrectly quoted as saying "Naw, it can't be heaven."

[edit] Remarks

  • Although this is not on the main site, the quote by Strong Bad — "Naw, it can't be heaven. There's not enough Twinkies" — was used as the Quote of the Week for June 10, 2005.
  • This toon also appeared in an Easter egg on Everything Else, Volume 1.
  • Homestar pulls the Twinkie from hammerspace.
  • Homestar suggests that they are in heaven, but Strong Bad hints that they are really in hell.
  • Strong Bad pounds on the edge of the screen, and Homestar could not find a way out of the other side. Despite this, Strong Bad's gloves are occasionally obscured by the edge of the screen, implying that it is not a solid wall.

[edit] Goofs

  • Homestar Runner's head extends beyond his shirt during most of this animation, especially when he shrugs.

[edit] Real-World References

  • Twinkies are a snack cake produced by Hostess.
  • This toon could be a reference to the Jean-Paul Sartre play "No Exit". Written in 1944, this existential play explores the idea that "hell is other people", a concept which Strong Bad comes to realize and finally panics over.
