On some occasions, it is stated that one activity has half the chance of an undesirable side effect when compared with a similar activity, when in reality the original activity has no significant chance of that side effect at all.

• Email pop-up — Strong Bad says that a page in the book, featuring a caricature of himself kicking The Cheat, has half the chance of rabies compared with kicking The Cheat normally.
• Email redesign — Color Wheel Roulette advertises that it has 50% fewer deaths than Russian roulette, but twice as many as "garden variety" roulette.
