[edit] Creating for the sake of creating

I see nothing interesting or out of the ordinary in any of the instances. This seems like another case of people creating pages because there's nothing better to do. — Defender1031*Talk 17:59, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

This a banner example what HRW:Spoons is trying to convey. HRW:IG states that a generic item has to have 5 to 10 appearances, and have moderate importance. Bikes I could let pass, since it was the focus of at least one SBEmail, and was a plot point for a couple others. But flashlights have not been used unusually in any of their appearances. It's basically a typical prop. Not notable = DELETED. wbwolf (t | ed) 18:06, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I'd call it a spoon, but... regardless, this is not nearly notable. Not a food, not a gag, not a person. Items which are common to real life and appear in appropriate uses are defined as "generic" by our standards. Generic pages need more uses than this. That said, I don't think I'd like this page if it had 30 uses. It just isn't notable.--Jellote wuz here 20:17, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
When I first created this page, I didn't know their were only a few appearances, but before I knew it,I went ahead and pressed save. So hypothetically, this page was an accident. --Rondleman! Stuff I did.Talk. 22:16, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Flashlights aren't really anything common on homestarrunner or made up by TBC anyway. Delete it!
This is *precisely* the sort of page that always seems to pop up when the site hasn't updated in a long time. Flashlights aren't used in any particularly novel way here; it's just a list of instances in which one has appeared. Not very interesting. Delete. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 22:06, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
Because I did not put my descision clear enough to see from afar, I'd like to add DELETED to it, and elaborate. Generic foods and drinks are kept due to a large filmography, if you can call it that. Gags require 3 appearences, and no more, before it can be considered indisputable. Objects require five to ten. This has the minimal appeareances, but does not meet the rest of the requirements, which I shall spell out carefully for the sake of this discussion.
Needs at least five to ten appearances and must be of at least moderate importance
to the toon (i.e. not just in the background and never mentioned) in half of
its appearances. Special weight would be given to pages that document uses that
are unique to the Homestar Runner universe in at least some of the appearances. {Continued below quote}
As you can see, it is a background object which gets no mention. By failing to meet that requirement, this page has one strike for and one against. It is not unique to the H*R universe. 1 for and two against. It has minor importance and could go away without any change in plot or dialouge. 3 strikes; this page should be out.--Jellote wuz here 18:23, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
