[edit] To be diggity-deleted

I can maybe accept the page itself - though that's debatable. But that "Blackstreet" ref has gotta go. It's too general a... word?... to pin down to them specifically. --Jay (Gobble) 19:26, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

A quick search reveals that a song called Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom) was published in 1956. I doubt that's the earliest "diggity" but the point is that It's laughable to think the word originated with a 1996 song. I'm killing the supposed reference to "No Diggity". I just noticed that the Wikipedia article for "Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom)" does claim that: "The song was the source of the phrase, "hot diggity dog!", an expression of great delight which was popular in the 1950s and 1960s." So maybe that should be in the article. OptimisticFool 19:33, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm all for deleting this page. when i linked to instances of the word in my revert summary it wasn't with the intention that this page be created. There's nothing remarkable about its use, nor anything tying the instances together. — Defender1031*Talk 19:35, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
It's an unusual word, is all. StarFox 23:36, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
It's gotta go. Not noteworthy, I'm with DeFender on this one. BALLETED! No, DELTETED! um... Del Taco?? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 02:14, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I'd have to say I'm on the keep side of the fence for this one. It also feels like there have been more instances of this than what we have currently listed, but maybe not spelled the same way.. I dunno. Anyway, I wouldn't be crushed to see it go, but I kinda like this article. OptimisticFool 02:36, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Get this weak mess outta here! User:Record307
If you count the word "digga," then I can think of at least one more example, the email Car. Still though, I don't think a word this common in the English language now really deserves a page. Delete.Guard Duck talk 06:38, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
