From Homestar Runner Wiki

Eh... I dunno' if I like this to well. The puzzle piece has nothing to do with the Homestar Runner Wiki. Plus, it's just too much like Wikipedia's stubs. I think we should just keep the stubs like they were. →FireBird

I think it's cute! It's a puzzle piece because it's a stub. :) Aurora Szalinski 16:35, 17 Mar 2005 (MST)

I think it's a puzzle piece because it came from Wikipedia, which (currently) has a logo consisting of several puzzle pieces connected together. If we had another seperate, completely different stub picture, then I'd probably like it, but the puzzle piece is just to much like Wikipedia for me. →FireBird
Yes, it's a puzzle piece because of the Wikipedia logo, but I think it fits for a stub too. Like, "this is one piece of a finished article, now do the rest!" Maybe it's just me... Aurora Szalinski 17:25, 17 Mar 2005 (MST)
We should make another version of our logo for use with stubs. woddfellow2| 19:22, 19 Mar 2005 (MST)

[edit] New Image

Contrary to what it says in the description, Wikipedia:Image:Wiki letter w.png is not GFDL... a new icon is probably in order... --phlip TC 03:29, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

That change was made earlier today, so I think we might want to wait for the dust to settle. As of earlier today (before the template was changed), and when the image was created, the image was marked as licensed by the GFDL. -- Tom 03:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Upon further review, it would appear that we should plan on discontinuing the use of our current image, as the image it was based on is soon to be copyright. I say we have a little fun and create our own image. -- Tom 17:28, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Maybe until we can come up with that image we could replace this with just the "hrw" logo that's on the puzzle piece. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 08:10, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
UPDATE: Phlip came up with this, and I think it's just spectacular. Nothing says more stubness in H*R than Strong Body. --DorianGray
Actually, it was Joey's idea - I just made the picture. My idea was SB's head with a hole in it, from MLS, but it didn't turn out very well... --phlip TC 06:47, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Are we not part of the Wikimedia foundation? Maybe I just don't understand the meaning of "GFDL".. SaltyTalk! 02:57, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

No, we're not. Which sucks. We may run on the MediaWiki software, but that does not make us part of the WikiMedia foundation. As far as what the heck GFDL means, I have no idea. Has Matt? (talk) 03:05, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Text of the GNU Free Documentation License. --DorianGray
We have nothing to do with the Wikimedia Foundation, other than that we use the same software, called MediaWiki. The GNU Free Documentation License is the licence Wikipedia uses to licence its content. -- Tom 03:14, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
And we have a quick link to link to Wikipedia that we use all the time, and they have a quick link to us that they use all the time. We may be friends, but we're not related. Thunderbird 16:45, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia uses Homestar Runner Wiki and they programmed their site to make HRWiki links by typing something like this: Link title. Like they'd mind if we used their puzzle piece. Besides, no offense to anyone, but the headless Strong Bad just says "This site has went down the toilet." Not that anyone gives a crap what I think, but... Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)
Anybody can add those interwiki links to Wikipedia. There's a page specifically set up for that and periodically a bot goes through it and adds the new ones to the database. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 04:10, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Darth Katana X, the links you speak of are called interwiki links and are not "programmed" by Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a multilingual Web-based free-content encyclopedia. Wikipedia does not use the Homestar Runner Wiki. As mentioned above, we use the same software, but that's where the similarity ends. Some of their articles link here, but I wouldn't consider that usage. Copyright law is a serious issue and we treat it accordingly.
And you know, I don't have a problem with the fact that you don't like the wiki, but could you please stop putting us down every chance that you get? It really gets to be a bit much when I'm seeing it in completely unrelated conversations. If you have constructive criticism, give it, but simply telling us that you don't like things and that how we do things are wrong without providing reasonable arguments isn't very useful. -- Tom 06:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't dislike the wiki, it just kind of irritates me sometimes after the whole guestbook apocolypse. And I do my best to offer constructive criticism, I just say what I think, you know, but sorry if I've offended anyone. Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)

Should we consider it risky that we have an image like this on our wiki? Soiled Bargains (talk|ctrb) 04:36, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
