Oops, didn't mean to step on your authority, InterruptorJones. But we want to remove the trolling remark, yes? ~ Aero

Yep, you did the right thing, as did Lord Pikachon. (I'm still getting used to all of the copious options on the History pages.) Thanks for your fast action. -- InterruptorJones 12:08, 20 Sep 2004 (MST)

Does Homestar "want" or "own" his own cartoon?

This word is a little hard to grok. It sounds more like "want" than "own." Of course Homestar already has his own cartoon, and seems to be aware of that fact (see The System is Down for "What are you talking about? It's my website."). However, this doesn't make any sense in the conversation. Given that it's Homestar, maybe it doesn't have to make any sense. Render

Strong Bad is still kind of talking when he says it the first time so it could be "want" or "own" but there's really no real way to tell. The second time almost definitely sounds like "own" to me though. But heck, we could be totally off base, he could be saying something we haven't even thought of. I dunno. That's the end of my post, Donk! ~Hobo

I think Homestar said "own" because the whole subject of this email is about why Strong Mad doesn't HAVE his own cartoon, so Homestar comes along to say that he DOES HAVE his own cartoon. But "own" sounds funnier than "have" so he said own. -Miss Free Country USA

Baby/Maybe

I'm certian that the line is "Baby Strong Sad" is sleeping. But this has been changed to "Maybe". Am I hearing things or is this wrong? -Drhaggis 17:52, 24 Sep 2004 (MST)

It's almost certainly "Baby," and baby makes much more sense in context. Remeber how shaky Strong Mad's grasp on reality is; he may not realize that Strong Sad is all grown up and writing bad poetry.Render
I took it to mean that that was a memory. From when Strong Bad was a baby. 69.81.102.162 13:26, 13 Oct 2004 (MST)
If that were the case, then it wouldn't be the grown-up Strong Bad or Strong Mad, either. I'd go with Render's interpretation.Scziçy

Garbledina??

Does anybody else suspect that Strong Mad is really trying to refer to an actual movie here? Maybe "Thumbalina" or "Argentina", I dunno. Strong Mad doesn't seem to fling out complete and utter gibberish very often — we have Homsar for that — he normally says things that make sense from a 5-year old perspective but has some difficulties pronouncing it.

I think that Garbledina is really Terminator...anyone else with me on this?

Uh... no? --Jay 11:10, 4 Feb 2005 (MST)

Disputed fun facts

I have removed the following from the page:

  • Strong Bad referring to Strong Mad as 'Graw Mad' may be a reference to the email car where Strong Sad is called 'Gron Sad' by Strong Bad.
  • Homestar Runner appearing on the right side of Strong Bad's computer may be a reference to the email flashback.
  • Cubeland might be a reference to Cubeez.

Also a few comments that slipped in there as well.

And there's plenty more. I really don't think we need to have information about Strong Mad's room on this page. The information should go on the Strong Mad's Room page, and then it could be linked to from here. The same goes for the TV and the VCR. -- Tom 09:46, 17 Oct 2004 (MST)

Tenuous Grasp on English Language

Did anyone notice the irony of how after Strong Bad says that Strong Mad has a tenuous grasp on the English language, Strong Bad himself speaks Spanish? - MIss Free Country USA

Even though Strong Bad has a Mexican accent in earlier toons, I have NEVER seen him speak Spanish. The only time Spanish was spoken on homestarrunner.com was in the First Time Here? video. Clever Ben

I was referring to RIGHT after he says that Strong Mad has a tenuous grasp, he says "por ejemple". -MIss Free Country USA

Bubkes or Bupkis or Bobkes?

Any real-live Yiddish speakers out there? I've looked up the word in various dictionaries and found not much info as to its real spelling. What it means, though, is clear: beans, peanuts, trifles, relatively nothing, worthless. When you know beans about that something, you know nothing about it, and that's bupkis. I've also heard it vulgarized as "buttkiss" or "bulls***" even. In the movie "Spaceballs" they even use it: "The ring is bupkis, the schwartz is in you!"

But that's not the question. The question is...how do you spell it?!??--Bellatrix 19:52, 30 Nov 2004 (MST)

I think it's spelled "Bubkus". Yeah. Does anyone remember replacement? One of the guys Homestar calls a crapface? Yeah, that's him.

dictionary.com says it's "bubkes", but is also written bupkis, bupkes, or bupkus. --Chrysaor

The Brothers Chaps named the Quote of the Week download for October 7th, 2004 "hs_thatsbupkis.zip". Problem solved. -- Tom 13:45, 17 Dec 2004 (MST)
