My wife is rather convinced this is a spoof of a similar cartoon produced in the 1980's; neither of us can recall the name of the cartoon. Any ideas? --[[User:24.98.124.75|24.98.124.75]] 02:31, 6 Apr 2005 (MST)

:This is a spoof of a BUNCH of similar cartoons produced in the 1980s. We can't include such "This that and the other thing" references because everyone would try to add their own personal favorite, making an extremely long fact that adds little to nothing to the article. --[[User:Jay|Jay]] 02:37, 6 Apr 2005 (MST)

::I agree. TBC tend to apply satire with a very wide brush. I too rememeber a show from that era with a real life band that was wisked away to cartoon space, for some reason. The keyboardist had long curly hair and I think the lead singer was a girl. [[User:Drhaggis|<nowiki></nowiki>]]- [[User:Drhaggis|Dr Haggis]] - [[User talk: Drhaggis|Talk]] 02:31, 6 Apr 2005 (MST)

:::The one that comes most readily to my mind, though, is Gilligan's Planet. That was probably the least sensical "in space" adaptation possible. - [[User:furrykef|furrykef]] ([[User_talk:furrykef|Talk at me]]) 09:10, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

:::Okay, maybe it's three years old, but the question was still there for anybody else who might have been wondering. It's not like a forum thread or something. ;) - [[User:furrykef|furrykef]] ([[User_talk:furrykef|Talk at me]]) 17:59, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

::::As far as bands in space, I remember the Patridge Family in Outer Space (cartoon) and Journey (at least in the video game version).  So, yeah, multiple bands.  I think though that the identified "bands in space" could be added to a real world references section of this piece.

:Ha! I can't help but contribute to this ooooold comment. Like you guys said, there were several cartoons like this, but I really think the one you guys are thinking of is "Kidd Video". It's arguable one of the more "iconic" 80's rock band cartoons. I didn't even recognize the name when I saw it -- I had to look up clips on YouTube to recognize it, and they are so deliciously terribad. -- [[Special:Contributions/24.242.225.193|24.242.225.193]] 03:56, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

::I think the cartoon that it most closely resembles is Josie and the Pussycats. It was made in the early 70's. It's about a band that went around doing things like catching criminals and whatnot. In the later half of the show, they board a spaceship and have the same kinds of adventures...but they're in space. Lots of similarities. --[[User:Branewashed|Branewashed]] 03:22, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Should we include the several CGI renditions of L"BTIS!" from Strong Bad's twitter on this page? ----[[User:Jeffjman|J∃ffJMan]][[File:jeffjsigchrismas.png|50px]] 15:02, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
