Talk:Joy of Painting
From Homestar Runner Wiki
The "Joy of Painting" videos show up in several other places, though, usually beneath Homestar's TV set... I'm not so sure this should be so hastily deleted. I've often wondered why there was no page on this. --DorianGray
- Well, for starters you could sift through Category:Help. Additionally, please sign your posts. — Lapper (talk) 22:32, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- I can't possibly learn it all in one day, though. Soon I will be experienced enough to create articles that won't need a talk page about it being deleted. Cheddarlebbon
- You don't have to learn it all in one day. Pretty much nobody knows everything about the wiki (except, perhaps, for a few admins like JoeyDay and Tom). If you're uncertain about standards and don't want to read the entirety of the help pages, you could try sticking to smaller edits until you get a better "feel" for the wiki. That's a good idea. I can build my way up and learn more. Also, I like the edit that someone has done to the article. (User: Cheddarlebbon)
- I think if we have the appearances of the tape under Homestar's TV, a picture, and a little bit of magic, we could have a legit page. SaltyTalk! 04:00, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- Looks good! I like it! --Stux 08:41, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I added the appearances of the video tapes labeled "Joy of Painting". Hope that helps it stick around a bit more. --DorianGray

I like this page. Joy of Painting appeared on several places and such it deserves a mention. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:54, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- Seems like most ppl who've commented here like the page to stay. I've removed the TBD and will link this article and the toons comment in a proper manner. --Stux 18:09, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I was skeptical at first, but now this looks apretty-pretty good. Homestar Coder 19:06, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I may be wrong, but is the "afro" misspelled? HRfan222
Thank you everyone, who has edited my page with extreme modifications! I also notice now that thanks to you all, there is no longer a tag saying that we have to debate on deleting it. I strongly appreciate it! User:Cheddarlebbon

Debut
Hmmm... my memory is a bit sketchy, but I clearly remember that the first new Strong Bad email I saw was 12:00, and I'm 95% certain that the Chinese Menu was still used at the time, which would mean that the recent IP was wrong; 12:00 would have been the debut. But then again, my memory may be one step up from a doodle memory, but it sure ain't photographic. There's another catch: I CLEARLY remember when the Chinese menu was still used, but I didn't watch the Strong Bad emails when I first visited the site because I didn't understand what they were (I forget what I thought they were...) so it's possible that the menu really did change before I watched the emails... however, I do not believe that is what actually happened. Yeah, I know, big help. >_> --Jay (Talk) 18:05, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Electronics?
Could someone explain to me why this is considered an "Electronics gag"? It doesn't seem to be electronic in nature, rather just a recurring gag.
- Yeah, you're right. I've changed it to "an entertainment running gag". --DorianGray 06:21, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Picture
Does anyone know what the picture is that Marzipan is painting? Its probobly pulled of the internet. The Pony man 23:01, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- If you do a google image search for "bob ross paintings", on the first page of results you'll find a link to a timeline on the history of art education. Check out 1983. The image was flipped horizontally by TBC. Investigating further, if you compare this to the painting in the bottom row, all the way on the left, from promotional material from Bob Ross Inc., I'm fairly sure they are the same. The hue is different, but compare them closely and see if you don't agree. A little more googling and I'm reasonably sure it's Season 28, Episode 12, "Mountain Serenity". —98.222.134.36 00:01, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
