::I dunno, it seems pretty similar to me. The intonation of how Homestar says "apply directly to the esophagus!" reminds me greatly of Head-On's repeated "apply directly to the forehead!" slogan. 09:28, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

:::Lots of things use the phrasing "apply directly to ___". Besides, if it were really referencing HeadOn, wouldn't the line have been repeated at least a couple of times? Foxx 21:28, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

It seems to me that after Homestar's voice clears up, it's changed from his old voice to his modern one, suggesting that the content of the Melonade Throat Closers packet is responsible for that change.  Or am I just crazy?

:It returned back to normal shortly after. Considering the difference in Homestar's voice between 2001 and 2009, maybe Matt did 2009 Homestar's voice for just those few lines instead of 2001 Homestar's? 23:10, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Wasn't this phrase used for the email Enviornment?  When Strong Bad watered Marzipans plants with Cigarette Butts, the coughed then said "Oh... thats good stuff!"  Do you think this is an inside refrence?

:It's more of a drug-use joke. I've seen this happen in some other cartoons as well before the Marzipan's plants thing. There are too few occurrences of this on H*R to classify it as a running gag, and, therefore, mention it as an Inside Reference. 16:22, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

:It sounds like "Oh, I have a face, and <something> gun..." to me. "...it gets in your..." would fit where that <something> is. ::I don't think it's really a huge plot hole.  Taking the idea and pretending it was his own, to the point that years later he has entirely forgotten that he got the idea from Homestar, or even ever saw Homestar answering emails, fits his arrogance and self-centered character to a tee. since there has been a large pile of inconsistencies coming from this toon, i think they should have their own section under Fun Facts. also, one more for the pile before i add it in: if homestar had his own email show before sbemails began, and had knowledge of internet and technology, and PREVIOUSLY OWNED THE TANDY, then what's up with his reaction in 50 emails?  -- 12:02, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

*Look at the design gap between 7 and 49, sure, maybe Homestar is a little slow on answering new e-mails, but it is quite possible that he forgot about his show for a while, and being Homestar, forgot about e-mails. Is there any Inside-Ref significance to March 2003? I had a quick look through the toons of that time... and he's got a cup of coffee at the end of caper, which came out at the end of March 2003. Is anyone bored enough to look through all of Homestar's appearances from ca. 2001 to caper and see if that's the first time he's seen drinking or talking about (or bathing in, I guess) a non-Melonade drink? 14:29, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm noticing that this hremail is being placed in between hremails 2000 and 3184. whenever such an inconsistency in release dates has happened before, it has been in line with the number instead of the release date. should we keep consistent to that incidence here or not? 04:31, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

:Now i see that they've all been reverted. I specifically opened this talk section so that they wouldn't be reverted before coming to a consensus here. That's what talk pages are for. Why did they all get reverted first? 17:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I've noticed that in this Hremail, The Cheat's voice can be compared to A Jumping Jack Contest and A Jorb Well Done. It's a little softer than modern toons. Would this be noted under "Remarks" along with Homestar Runner's voice? 22:30, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

::I think this is due to the fact like they've gone back in time, this was made in 2009 but is meant to look like 1999 because everyone sounds like they're from a Jump Jack Contest, made in the same year. == remarks rewording ==

The remarks section has too many sub-bullet sections that need to be reworded to sound less argumentative and/or merged into their respective parent-bullets. I just fixed one of them but the others are less clear cut, and might merit further discussion. Even though they're about the continuity errors, which are already discussed to death on this talk page. I don't want to change it to something that 50% of the wiki users will disagree with and watch it get changed back and forth 12 times.-- 07:49, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

As ridiculously in-depth the Remarks section is for this Hremail, I haven't seen anybody calculate just how long that contract of Homestar's actually lasted. I mean, we've seen him shower in regular water (Main Page 14), and bathe in money (Easter egg in Ever and More!), so... --I was raised by a cup of coffee - Camwoodstock 20:26, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

:What exactly do you mean by "too long"? We don't typically have rules about the maximum length of a section. A section should be no longer or shorter than the number of items worthy of appearing in it. Sometimes that means one item, sometimes it means 30. 13:54, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
