Revision as of 05:06, 28 November 2015

I've gone over all the Compy emails like twice, and I don't think any of them match the one on the guy's screen in the first picture... the closest is pom pom, based on the short words at the bottom, but the rest doesn't really match. I'd add it as a fun fact but I'd like some confirmation first. --phlip TC 08:06, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

The email would have to be pre-October 31, 2003 though. I see a greeting line, four lines of text in the body, a closing line, and a name. -- Tom 13:58, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
That's pre-couch patch, to save you the trouble. - Joshua 14:05, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
It also appears to start with "Hey StrongBad" or a short word then StrongBad, if that helps. --smileyface.PNG11945 (Talk/Ctrbs) 14:09, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
Aha! I think it's sibbie – I got thrown off, I thought the last two lines were a salutation and a name, or a name and a state, but it's a name and the A>_ prompt, which we don't transcribe. Right, time to add this to the article. Incidentally I realised it would have to be released before this, but I compared it to the August 12 2004 date of the toon, rather than the Oct 31 2003 date that the photos were probably taken... Something about a lack of sleep and what little brainpower I have being channeled into exam studying... funny thing is that as I type this Strong Bad from this very page is singing "Some people have too much time on their hands" and I just wasted god knows how long pouring through these flash files looking for this... And now I'm rambling, which I tend to do when I'm tired, so I guess I'll go to bed now. --phlip TC 14:46, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Good Costumes

I know that The Brother Chaps are just fooling with the people in the costumes, but I must say, I kinda think that Strong Bad insulting the costumes isn't very nice to the people who made these costumes. I don't mean to sound dumb, but you got to admit, those people put alot of hard work into making all those pumpkins and costumes. TBC does not sell costumes, so people make them, and it look's like it took alot of work. I just don't think it's right that they're being insulted, because the people who made it may think that they're costumes stink. What do you all think? Cheddarlebbon

Strong Bad insults the name of nearly every person that sends him an email. Nothing malicious is meant by it, it's just good natured ribbing. I'm sure the people who dressed up and sent the costumes in were thrilled to be featured on the site, not insulted by Strong Bad's witty jibes and clever put-downs. Plus, complementing someone on their costume is not nearly as funny as ragging on them. Dramus 03:42, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Chdeddarman, was that a joke? You're here, on the hrwiki, and you expext people to be NICE? Have you ever even SEEN a cartoon on homestarrunner.com? They're jerks, and that's why their funny. People send costumes to Strong Bad to be made fun of! If they knew anything about how he treats people (especially people with dumb names), they'd expect this. Pointing out the obvious, --Jellote 15:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Styx

from an LTWFTW: Perhaps that little ditty SB sings is referring to the song "Too Much Time On My Hands" by Styx.

Any thoughts?

Sounds nothing like it at all. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:49, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Furthermore... "The tune of the song Strong Bad sings while describing the "Snub-nosed Marzipan" would later be used as part of the Cheat Commandos theme." It was? Doesn't sound anything like it to me, maybe some close intervallic similarities but in general, both the rhythms and notes are different. I guess the ending is kind of like that, but I don't think that's enough to say that this song "was later used." Thoughts?--Big Dog 03:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Code Lyoko reference?

In talking about the "talismans of power" Strong Bad mentions a jungle, Ice World and a desert, which are (more or less) three of the sectors of Lyoko. Also, the "talismans of power" might be referencing the Dragon Balls. --DarkAlex 01:46, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

We used to have a fact sort of about talismans of power, but it was removed on the grounds that it could refer to too many things. A large number of adventure shows and video games have a bunch of varying worlds where you have to collect a number of mystical artifacts. It refers to far too many things to mention. --DorianGray 01:48, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Exactly. Its a stretch. Dragonballs, blade of awe shards, key halves, these are just some of the many things it could refer to. And as for Code Lyoko, desert worlds and ice worlds (as well as mountain, forest and virtual) are common locations for mystic tailismans. Signed by --Jellote 15:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Strong Bad said Coach Z lives in an apartment, but he lives in a locker room! — 24.216.222.15 (Talk | contribs) 03:02, 28 November 2015 (left unsigned)

Mainly continuity is not a concern for The Brothers Chaps. In sbemail206, he lives in the Gremlin as his "apratment". Though you could consider a locker an apartment. - Catjaz63 05:06, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
