Wisp of smoke

Smoke on the water mountain

I think that when Marzipan notes that Homestar Runner will be able to eat brunch with her at her parents' house, the small wisp of black smoke that rises from above his head resembles a climber on the mountain in the final frame before the smoke disappears. I may be hallucinating, though. Either way, time to sleep... -- eb3686 | talk 09:46, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Here's an image to help illustrate his point. While I can see where he gets the idea, I think it's a not-notable coincidence. It's not the first time they've used the "angry smoke" image, and the positioning is because Homestar just happens to be directly near the valley there. --DorianGray 09:57, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the image! I agree with you, but I thought that I'd point it out just in case so that everyone can decide on it. Yes, sleepy time needed. -- eb3686 | talk 10:02, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Father of six?

Is this meant to refer to Strong Bad Email and the sub-series? (Teen Girl Squad, Cheat Commandos, etc.)

Wow. That's probably the biggest stretch I ever witnessed on a Wiki Talk page. BBG 17:31, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Trivia.

Someone put that it was the first time we see Homestar in long pants, but I deffinately recall seing him in long pants in Highschool.

Smile for the cartoon, Strong Bad!

Is everyone here too... something...meh, whatever... to notice Strong Bad smiles twice in this toon? but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 15:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes. BBG 16:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't have a stake in the argument over whether to include SB smiling, but I have an issue here. I see that the edit has been removed at least twice with reference to the aforementioned talk page. Said talk page has only a handful of comments on the subject and no consensus on a cutoff date. Furthermore, the argument to cut off these comments should come from the article, not the article's talk page, should it not? It seems that edits are being removed without a solid reason given for doing so. 146.122.71.68 17:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Steep deep

The way Steep Deep is made came to mind two possible references: either the climactic scene of How The Grinch Stole Christmas TV special or the Cliffhanger game from The Price Is Right. The former is more plausible, given the holiday theme. Thoughts? Broken glass? wbwolf (t | ed) 18:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Some Irrelevant Crap

Someone mentioned this on the forum: do the TV special parts w/ the piano, pipe, etc. seem like that Stephen Colbert christmas special that was on last month? I personally doubt it, More likely a parody of christmas specials in general, but hey, some o' you might think so. -Lifty Fernandez

They are clearly both mocking the concept of Holiday Specials, non-notable in my opinion. Flashfight 18:43, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I think Homestar is wearing a cardigan, not a suit. That and the pipe make me think this could be a reference specifically to Bing Crosby. Sentroyd 19:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Previous Engagement = Prior Arrangement

I think it should be noted in the article that when Strong Bad translates the cheat as "previous engagement", he (or the Cheat) probably meant "prior arrangement". A previous engagement is something that has already happened, not something that is about to happen that the Cheat must attend.

Nah.. "previous engagement" is fine. Here's one source. 98.127.16.93 19:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
