The characters of the Homestar Runner universe sometimes get nationalities confused, most often Strong Bad.

- Email action figure — Strong Bad says his action figure would come with Chinese throwing croissants despite them being a French pastry. He may also be referring to "Chinese throwing stars", when shuriken are Japanese in origin.
- Email anything — Reading the abbreviation "FL", Homestar Runner suspects that the sender is from the Far Off Lands instead of Florida.
- The Theme from Dangeresque II — Dangeresque is said to keep a bunch of Chinese stars under the bed with a length of pipe. Again, shuriken are Japanese.
