[edit] Page URL

I noticed that both from this page and on the h*r website, the Teespring link leads directly to "strongbadsspecialtyshoppe.com" rather than a teespring.com subpage. Did this just happen, or what? The Knights Who Say Ni 17:43, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

No it's always been like that (at least as long as the updated site). I'm still unsure of how to use the template with the strongbadsspecialtyshop.com because it never seems to work. TheOneAndOnlyDanky 03:01, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
At least on my browser (Firefox), if I go to "http://strongbadsspecialtyshop.com/" the site does not load and gives a "Server Not Found" error. In fact, if I go to WHOIS it shows that strongbadsspecialtyshop.com is not even being used and is available for sale! But if I go to "https://teespring.com/stores/strong-bads-specialty-shoppe" the address bar automatically updates to strongbadsspecialtyshop.com. I don't have any experience using Teespring so I don't know how/if their vanity URL system works. -- Bleu Ninja 17:28, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
I think it might be the http: at the beginning, because https://www.strongbadsspecialtyshoppe.com/ works just fine.TheOneAndOnlyDanky 19:30, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Wait no it's because you put shop instead of shoppe. TheOneAndOnlyDanky 19:32, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
That would explain everything -- Bleu Ninja 20:03, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
It would appear that the URL is now indeed broken. Looks like a DNS issue. Hope it gets fixed soon. (Can someone confirm it's not Just Me™?) Trott 05:31, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/strongbadsspecialtyshoppe.com if you need to check. And yes, right now it's down. The Knights Who Say Ni 01:11, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
DownForEveryone now says it's back up, but alas, it's a domain parked page so still not working. 😔 Trott 21:29, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Homsar Shirt Error

Reminded of the teespring store from Strong Bad's latest tweet, I looked at it and found this:

"some mystery"

What is going on there? is that an error or some new Homsar lore? ----J∃ffJMan 15:59, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Did Teespring rename itself recently or something?

Based on recent edits it seems that it did. Do the old URLs no longer work? The cleaner solution should be to add a new external wiki link or update the current one before starting to update all links. --Stux 21:13, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

It looks like it's changed from subdirectories (teespring.com/stores/strong-bads-specialty-shoppe) to subdomains (strong-bads-specialty-shoppe.creator-spring.com), with creator-spring.com instead of teespring.com, and in a way where old links don't redirect. I don't know how to make or change interwiki links, so I kept the edits to fixing the few most obvious dead links. -- Bleu Ninja 22:26, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
I've updated the Da Basement section on inter-wiki links to bring up this issue. I'm not sure what the best solution would be but it might be possible to reuse the existing teespring link perhaps? --Stux 01:51, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Rename

Since Bleu Ninja has just given this page a facelift, leaving no mention of "Teespring" on the page, I think this constitutes a reason to change the name of the page. I found some discussion here about what this page should be called upon its creation, just to get the ball rolling. The Knights Who Say Ni 21:21, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Looks like they've been rolling out "Spring" over the past few years, which might could be the cause of the URL issues Trott was experiencing earlier; the Shopify page says to check out "Strong Bad's Specialty Shoppe on Spring" too so we probably should change the "Teespring" name. I'd support Strong Bad's Specialty Shoppe for the new page name, though alternatively Spring Store better matches the title style of Flash Store and Yahoo Store and is shorter to boot. -- Bleu Ninja 22:21, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
From my understanding of the discussion I linked, "Teespring" was recommended as the name because of its brevity, and now it's not an accurate title anymore. "Strong Bad's Specialty Shoppe" is an accurate title, so that is what I would support. The Knights Who Say Ni 20:01, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
That's not a bad idea, renaming it to "Strong Bad's Specialty Shoppe" one thing I'd like to point out is that the page's title reads "STRONG BAD'S SPECIALTY SHOPPE" in all caps. So I wonder if we need to match the capitalization? --Stux 01:59, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
