"The Cheat training... what're ya gonna do?"

Characters will refer to someone's own dang something, often in ways where it flows awkwardly in the sentence. One's "own dang self" is the most common iteration of this phrase.

Appearances

• Email mile — The Podstar Runner description for this email is "The Cheat animates his own dang Strong Bad Email".
• Email isp (commentary) — Coach Z claims to have made up a joke by his own dang self, though Mike Chapman is quick to point out he was just quoting the cartoon.
• Email yes, wrestling — Strong Bad describes "wrestling as my own dang self" when he stopped working as a tag team with Strong Mad
• SBCG4AP Dev Blog — In the April 24, 2008 post, Strong Bad alters a screenshot to show Strong Sad performing "open heart surgery on his own dang self."
• Baddest of the Bands — Bubs and Coach Z's band, the Two-O Duo, make a song about Bubs stealing stuff from his own dang store. This phrase is (with slight variations) used several times throughout.
• Donut Unto Others — An article in The Imaginary Newspapes recounts Marzipan discovering "a totally legit donut enterprise operating out of her own dang kitchen."
• Email dictionary — The definition for "hwimswelf" hints at The Cheat wetting the bed by his owndangself.

  • 20 Apr 2020 — When asked if Adobe Character Animator was used for his appearance in the then-recent Tabletop Simulator stream, Strong Bad answers with "I used Animate My Own-Dang-Self!"
  • 6 Aug 2022 — Strong Bad makes his "own dang cards" for the prototype version of Dangeresque: Crime Scene Tamperer.
  • 18 Jun 2023 — After being asked to link up with the creators of the board game Fire Tower for a Trogdor-themed version of the game, Strong Bad says that he already linked up with his own dang self to make Trogdor!!.
• Index Page — The announcements for the Onion Bubs, Teen Girl Squad, and Homestar Runner iMessage Stickers explain that one can attach a sticker to a message, or send it by its own dang self.
• Talk-It-Yourself Homestar Runner Puppet Plush — The product is referred to as "Talk-It-Your-Own-Dang-Self Homestar Runner Puppet Plush" in the commercial's conclusion.
