Caleb Rentpayer

Caleb Rentpayer is a TV show of which Strong Bad is a fan. It was first overheard in the Strong Bad Email "secret recipes", as it was being watched by The King of Town, but had a more prominent role in Bug In Mouth Disease. Even more information was revealed in the toon's audio commentary.
The show features the trials and tribulations of Caleb, a renegade who somehow acquires a lot of money, and his butler, Tuxworth. Caleb is normally very disrespectful of Tuxworth, while Tuxworth is often skeptical of Caleb's schemes.
In a whodunit cliffhanger for which Strong Bad duct taped his head to the TV, it was revealed that Homestar Runner had shot Caleb, a parody of the famous Dallas episode "Who Shot J.R.?". It is uncertain whether Caleb survived, although Tuxworth made a later appearance in winter pool. In the DVD commentary, it is confirmed by Strong Bad that Caleb did appear in that episode, but it is unknown when this episode debuted.
The show is likely a parody of soap operas, which often have befuddled dialogues and dramatic musical scores to go along with them.

The funeral dirge was featured in Bug In Mouth Disease after Caleb was shot. Its sheet music also appeared on day 4 of the Decemberweenvent Calendar after a page flip. Strong Sad especially likes the doom and gloom of its minor key.
