When the characters of the Homestar Runner universe make bold claims or suggestions, these will frequently be followed by a silly disclaimer, either denying the preceding statement or adding a word of caution. These disclaimers are often written out, preceded by an asterisk, and spoken by a generic voice in a hushed tone.

Real Disclaimers
- Marshmallow's Last Stand — The "FBI Warning" at the beginning states that the cartoon is "pretty old" and that the characters aren't very funny.
- Everything Else, Volume 1 — During the FBI warning, Strong Bad gives a "Strong Bad-BI warning" that the DVD does not contain any Strong Bad Emails.
