Given that Halloween is one of the main holidays celebrated in the Homestar Runner universe, it's no surprise that pumpkins have been featured quite prominently, both in the Halloween toons, and in other small features related to halloween, most prominently the annually updated Punkin Stencils. They have been carved, gnawed, and even been the trigger for Easter eggs. In addition, two popular mispronunciations for the word have come to exist.

Mispronunciations of Pumpkin
Punkin
An incorrect pronunciation and spelling of "pumpkin" usually used to make the character sound more old-timey.
- Punkin Stencils — The title is an instance. In addition, in the 2009 edition, if you click on Old Timey Strong Bad, The Homestar Runner describes what he would do if he had carved a punkin like that.
- That A Ghost — The old-timey gang go to the punkin patch, and The Homestar Runner asks Old-timey Marzipan if she's afraid of punkins.
Pumpakin
Usually used for Halloween-related page titles.
- Pumpkin Carve-nival — The page title is "A Pumpakin Carve-nival". In the toon, Homestar tells The Cheat to ask Strong Mad why come he didn't carve his pumpakin.
- Punkin Stencils — The page title from 2003 through 2008 was "Make-a Your Own-a Pumpakin!".
